While abortion for myself is not an option, I can however understand why a smaller percentage of women have this proceedure done, than the most who simply do not know what birth control is.
Rape and insest conceptions.
The rest of the women I feel are old enough to consent to sex, they should be old enough for birth control.
As far as diseases such as HIV infected mothers- This one is hard to debate on since there are those children who aren't ill with the disease.
Genetically speaking: Defective genetics and it's proven by medical tests that the child won't survive (hard desicion!)
I personally would not have an abortion unless I absolutely knew the outcome, as medical professionals do not 100% know all outcomes. Personal choice, but I don't think I could live with myself not knowing for sure my child might of ended up okay!
On the spiritual issue: If your pregnant that is the way nature intended it to be, however, a woman does have a choice! Birth control AND protection, no matter who you are with!

Abortion is killing a fetus. There is no doubt about that. However, I fully support abortion because I have seen it does have many positive effects. We see a lot less of the single, unwed mothers who have to scrape by on very scant wages in areas that abortion is unfavorable. So, it decreases poverty by a long shot. Also, illegalizing it is dangerous because back alley abortions will just pop right up as soon as you do.
Abortion is clearly an ideological debate. You see people from both sides of the political spectrum arguing it, but it is really an emotional issue. Is it murder? Yes. Are we killing a person who lived life? No. We can go back and forth like this all day and never get anywhere.
Like it or not, abortion is an OLD institution and we will have to deal with it. If society had more voluntary measures to give to-be moms a way out of requiring an abortion, maybe it wouldn't be a problem. Of the people I know that got an abortion, they all regretted it, but realized it was the only thing they could do and keep their lives.
I fully support the women who are willing to go through an abortion.

I'd love to see all the individuals who are screaming "murder" when they are faced with a situation involving possible rape, incest or the death of the mother (aka themselves.) Are you the same people who go to abortion clinics to hold signs and chant how abortion is a sin and murder??
Have you ever been to a country where abortion is ILLEGAL and see the disasterous effects of that? Jeez. It was like this country before abortion was legalized with Roe vs. Wade. Coat hangers, sticks...I mean you name it and it was used as an abortion aide. Back alley abortions killed sooo many people!
Is that what all of you want? More innocent people to be killed.
And where does anyone else other than the mother have the right to say that someone else's decision is bad? I find it funny that everyone can say how bad something is when they have no idea what half the facts are. Take a spin in someone's shoes who is going through an abortion and get both sides of the story before you start yelling "murderer."

Well..I never believed in it, I was doing a report on child abuse and ran across photos of abortions and for those that have had abortions and who do believe in them have changed their mind after seeing these photos. There are evidence that the fetus is a child. A lot people that believe in abortion cannot grasp that a fetus is a live and living human being. I was mortified and angered when I saw the pictures. They are very disgusting, but they do have a valuable lesson behind them.
Abortion is murder. People that abort their baby tend to forget how they got here, it is a very selfish thing to do. People want to play around, but they do not want to pay the consequences that come with it. That baby did not ask to be conceived. Abortion robs innocent lives.
There have been reports of the baby crying while it is being aborted, it was shown on the x ray while the abortion was being done. I just cannot believe it!
People will do as they do and we can say it's wrong until we are blue in the face, but everyone has their feelings and their opinions. :(

in this country, a woman STILL has the right to choose. Abortion is a choice women were awarded in 1972 with the infamous case: Roe v. Wade. Women should not be persecuted or judged for whatever choices they make.
I completely agree with those that say that abortion is murder. It is. that is why I would never do it myself. But I have a choice. that is the point. Many women say that they would probably go through with an abortion, but when it comes down to it, they don't.
If a woman feels so strongly about having an abortion, she has probably thought about her financial situation and her ability to care for this baby. It is understandable to say: if you are not prepared financially to have a child, you should not be having sex. That's all great and well, but how likely is it that people will abstain from having sex? Not very. "Use a condom." they break...
in the end, it is a woman's choice to decide whether or not she will have this baby.
I believ strongly in this issue, although I would never have an abortion myself. I would prefer to know that a woman is not going to be bringing a baby into this world completely unprepared to care for him/ her then to have yet another welfare mom manipulating the system and living in this way for the rest of her life.
Put the baby up for adoption. What's wrong with that? many people who are willing to adopt are not looking for older children but young babies. And many times, these babies do not get the opportunity to get adopted because of all the restrictions that are placed in adopting a child. These babies grow to an age where they become unadoptable, and they remain in orphanages until they are old enough to make it on their own.
It sucks, but it is the truth.
Again, I believe that a woman has a right to choose. And I would choose to keep my baby; however, I would support a woman's choice to abort an unwanted baby that she was unprepared to raise properly.

I have a strong belief that abortion should not happen for any reason at all because you are mudering/killing a baby and how would you like to be killed. this is just one innocent child that was conceived and just wants to enter the world and see what goes on in the world. Abortion is like killing an innocent person out in the world now would you do that if not then just have the baby.
If you don't want to bring up the baby yourself i am sure that there are plenty of surrogate mothers, foster homes and adoption clinics that will find mothers who are unable to have kids who really want a baby but are unable to conceieve

I personally think it is wrong. It is murder anyway you cut it. At twelve days after conception the "fetus" I call it a baby, has a heart beat, it does not match the mother's therefore it is no longer "the woman's body". end of story. I understand how scared women get, I had a baby at 16 trust me I I know what it feels like to be scared out of your mind. BUT you chose to get laid, the baby didn't asked to be conceived, if your not ready to be a parent then go the adoption route, NOT abortion. If you are going to lay down and play be prepared to stand up and pay!

Women probably won't give you much feedback on this. However, I can handle your question. Men have no idea what most women go through when they are considering abortion.
I do not think abortion should be a legal issue. I am pro-choice, though would have a serious hardship if I thought that an abortion were necessary for me.

I think that abortion is murder. There's no loophole for me, no way around it; it's murder. It can be justified only in the case where you've got a pregnant 12-year-old or something who will die if she tries to carry the baby to term. All the convenience abortions, to me, are just sickening. It's a matter of people not taking responsibility for their actions.
In most social issues, I'm rather liberal. This is one where I'm not. When the "fetus" has its own DNA, which, for the record, is from conception, it is its own person and deserves protection.

I feel that it's wrong. Abortion is murder no matter how you look at it. That baby deserves a chance at life just like everyone else does and I don't think people should be able to legally take away another human beings right to live.
