My second oldest brother thinks he is right no matter what the situation is, and if you try to make your point across he just argues with you, It doesn't matter the situation... he will argue he is not happy unless he's at war!! And my mom always makes him think he is right, and she gives him way to much say over what she does, and he wants to know everyones buisness... We (my brother and i) got into an arguement today because he bought a newspaper and the newspaper he bought was a sectional and it was all over the table i asked if it was garbage and he said NO, I JUST BOUGHT IT!! i was like well why is it all over the table like this, and said cause thats how you read that paper, and i said well it looks messy you should put it togather when your done reading it! and he flipped out started telling me to mind my own buisness and calling me names and stuff, mean while all i was trying to do was clean up... i want to get in my car and just keep driving!! HELP, What should i do?

if you read the question properly, you would see i said he was older then me "my second oldest brother" and i wasn't looking for a fight, i was cleaning off the table....He fights with everybody in the family, even with my oldest brother....he fights with my mom and calls her names too, the thing is he would never talk like that to someone else, he takes advantage of us (family) because he can get away with it!!

It takes two to argue. Choose not to. State your point of view and let it go. If he starts to shout you down, you can wait until he stops and start again ,let it go, or write it in a letter. The news paper incident for instance. That was more about power than the paper itself.Family counseling, your priest/religious leader, and meditation are just a few options available to you all. Peace.

Quit trying to tell your brother how to do simple tasks like reading the newspaper.
It sounds like you were looking for a fight.
It could be that he really is smarter than you and you are jealous of him.
There's nothing more annoying than a smartass little brother.

You should start always agreeing with him too. That would annoy him so much.Imagine having someone always telling you "yep you are so right?" all the time. And I'm sure if your brother does not notice the sarcasm the first time he will eventually catch on.If not hes really stupid and not even worth arguing with.

Find a real friend. Stop trying to compete with your own family for recognition.

A lot of men are like this. My step-father is that way too. We just find a way to prove them wrong.

well it depends how old he is. if he's really little, that's natural, if hes an adult you need to have an honest discussion with him that he can be wrong. you can find prof that he is wrong a few times, see if that helps, if all else fails, try therapy.
