I don't know how old you guys are, BUT SHOW HIM THIS REPLY. I was three years older than my brother and never had time for him. I had my girl friends, and buddies to be with I played baseball too, and was pretty decent at it. I"d go occasionally to see my little brother play and he was great for his age. I always wished I could hit like him. That 's one of the things I remember about him. One day in the school yard a bully tried to pick a fight with me, and my kid brother just appeared out of nowhere and jumped on that bully's back yelling at him to leave his brother alone. I never knew why but he always looked up to me. I certainly didn 't do anything to warrant it. But he was a soft hearted guy who was loved by everybody. We both went to Viet Nam and came home in one piece. I don't know how one brother can mostly get over it - me- and the other brother can't. But I was airborne infantry and he was a medic. He saw more death and terrible injury's then I did I guess. He never really came back. He had a terrible guilty conscience because he came home and so many he tried to help didn't. I went on with life he turned to the bottle. I got a good union construction job and he went from job to job. Sometimes doing nothing but drinking. I wish I would have been closer to him as kids. And I wish I would have done more for him as a grown up. But I had my life to live and a family. I didn't have much time for my kid brother. He died three months ago at age fifty eight. His body just couldn;t take the abuse anymore. Between the booze and Agent Orange. I guess you can say that Viet Nam did get him. He has a clear consions now. You sound like a kind hearted guy like my kid brother was. If I knew a way for him to be closer to you I would tell you. You can't go back in time and make things right so show him this. I hope he just does't laugh it off and say it's just some crazy old man. Beacause with some luck he'll be an old man some day.I hope he still has a little brother who wants to be his friend.

Find a common interest. Maybe movies or riding bikes or something? Older bros also go through stages -- if he doesn't want to spend time with you know, maybe he'll want to later.

Can you just come out and ask him that. Tell him you rather spend time with him. Than with your friends doing dumb stuff that might get you into trouble..

As you get older, you will have more in common, and become closer-believe me. Right now, you are both too different.
