How about someone your daughters age so they can hang together

Consider all ages. There are so many children that need foster care. It is hard to place older children sometimes and children with mental and physical disabilities. Talk with some foster parents in your area and get a feel for it before you commit to anything. You also want ot consider what hours you work if you work outside the home. Foster parenting can be very rewarding but also very trying at times. Good Luck and I hope you are doing this because you love children and not for the money. I know that sounds hard but there are too many homes out there for just monetary gain.

That depends on what your daughter is like. Some foster children have emotional issues and if you get the teenage angry type (not that all are like that - just an example) she could be in trouble. Maybe go for a younger age group than your daughter. Someone maybe that will look up to your daughter.

You should not take any foster children older than about 5 - 8 right now. This is because your daughter is getting ready to go through a time in her life when she will need you to be paying attention, and foster children often have emotional or health issues that can take alot of time and energy. You should do it though, because it's a HUGE need.

I wouldnt recommend a child who would be in the same grade as your child... I think 1-2 years younger would be ideal. The foster child could look up to your child and put her in a position of leadership. Good luck!

I would take one at least 2 years younger, make them close in age so they can become friends,if you get them to young they will probably bug her like my brother and sister who are five and six years younger than me(they both bother me 24/7).
