You cannot please God with Out Faith, and Faith not used is no good. So the Christian Life is based on Faith in Jesus Christ the Anointed Son of God.

I hear Ya...

I had been living on a fine line between living a more peaceful life and one with too much drama..... for a while..... but I have taken what I was taught through hard times and as a child. I caught on to various Ministries and a local churche not shoving RELIGION at me -as it was when I was growing up Catholic in the 70's 80's.

I think one has to come to a point where one realizes that one is more than just flesh and to do something about that fact.

Well there just happens to be a basis for that type of living complete with descriptions and directions called the Bible --- what ever version king james etc. . Other religions and spiritual gatherings (AA. OA etc) have their main sources of guidance.

If I understand correctly, being a Christian means your primary source is thumbing through the Bible and trying to treat people like you want to be treated. Trusting that this Higher Power you have chosen to believe in (Because you realize you can't control everything) has your back. If you don't get treated fairly --- try to not "live in the flesh" or go by what YOU want to do.

But lead by being quiet and still and listening and studying and being guided by Our Saviour Lord Jesus Christ.

Of course you're scared our society teaches that Christianity is no fun. Give it a whirl you'll never know unless you try it. I personally have found it very fun and fulfilling. Make sure you find a nice church and join some groups there so you have guidance etc. The Bible based ones are best I think. I am very fond of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod but I do think that Baptists have lots of fun in their faith too. Remember that Christians are only human--they screw up at least as often as non-Christians do the difference is that they are supposed to try to fix the situation!

What's not to like about it? It's gives you a different kind of freedom that you wouldn't otherwise have. It's freeing because there's a peace in your life that you wouldn't otherwise have. There's always someone there that wouldn't be there. Jesus is always with us and when we have a problem, all we need to say is "God I need you" and he'll send the help that you need. You may not always recognize the help that's sent but it's always there. It'll put you in places that you need to be some that your never lost. It may something as simple as putting you near a pay phone so you can make a call for gas or for a ride some where, or else he'll have just the right person stop so that you can get to a safe place.

"For God so Loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16-17
To be a Christian, first ask Jesus to come into your life and be your personal savior. Second, see where He wants you to go from there. God has done so much for you and asks so little. He deeply loves you and desires to have a personal relationship with you. I hope this helps. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. This is too important to let go.

That would exclude the things that Jesus did not do, and include the things that Jesus did do.
What you need to do is:
1. Read the scriptures to discover what it is that was recorded about Jesus' earthly activity.
2. Apply what you learn in incremental steps.
3. Avoid substituting things YOU want to do and saying you are doing them in Jesus name, as this is not living a Christian LIfe.(:-o)

The "Christian life" depends entirely on which cult you choose to follow.

The only rules Christians follow are those invented by the cult leaders.

However, you can safely ignore any of those rules (except the one about tithing) because you can repent as often as necessary when you violate the rules.

The Christian life is to try to be like Jesus in every way you can. Be happy to help people, be kind & even tho this might me hard...love your enemies. (i'm still working on this one.) Love your neighbor as yourself. Love God & praise him for being with you thru all the good & bad. Pray to God to forgive you and live in your heart forever. God will love you for who you are. The best first step is to go to church & talk to the pastor. he/she will help you take the first step toward a christian style of living.

the christian life is not something you just try out....you need to talk to someone about what you believe about God (or some other divine being) and then seek guidance in pursuing a relationship with God

See if there are any Catholic Churches in your area, & if there are, enquire if they have an RCIA(Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)programme there.

This particular programme teaches all about Catholic Christianity for those who are interested.

(I know you said "the Christian life," but, there are so many & the best one that I know of, is the one that I belong to.)
