a friend of mine told me what it's called and i don't remember what he said. i tried searching for it, but no go. all i keep finding is what goosebumps are and why they're called that, etc.

i'm hoping someone else out there knows because it is driving me insane! O.o

edit: okay, everyone seems to think that i don't like it when i get goosebumps listening to music. i do, i just want to know what that's called. so, don't answer my question saying "it's not a bad thing." i know it's not, k? XD

You are thinking of the aestetic reaction. I hope I spelled that right, but it sounds like (es - STET - ik) reaction. I did a research paper on it when I was in college. I think it can be described as a experience of the mind so strong that the body undergoes a physical reaction. Often regarded as a spiritual experience, enlightenment, inspiration, sometimes epiphany.
I think it is a great manifestation of the divinity of the human race as children of God, that we have spirits that are offspring to the supreme being of the universe.

needless to say.. sturdy song has that result on you. and congratulations, it is the way you already know which you're listening to significant and soulful song, in comparison to 3 ''noise'' some human beings sing at present..

don't people just call them chills....im not sure, that's what i hear people say when they get goosebumps listening to music, and if there is technical term for that...i've never heard it...sorry

we used to call that a rush in the 70s.

like a emotional raise in the mind... and you get this tingling feeling all over, especially your arms and back.

sort of a instant euphoria thing.. rather superficial. you're releaseing endorphins and that's a good thing...

let it happen, it's good for you.

I don't know!!! Happens to me a lot though!!!! Usually during a familiar song, or while listening to someone with a great singing voice...once you find out please tell me though too I'd like to know!

I believe you are actually thinking of "frisson". Otherwise known as a cold chill.
