a friend of mine told me what it's called and i don't remember what he said. i tried searching for it, but no go. all i keep finding is what goosebumps are and why they're called that, etc.
i'm hoping someone else out there knows because it is driving me insane! O.o

You are thinking of the aestetic reaction. I hope I spelled that right, but it sounds like (es - STET - ik) reaction. I did a research paper on it when I was in college. I think it can be described as a experience of the mind so strong that the body undergoes a physical reaction. Often regarded as a spiritual experience, enlightenment, inspiration, sometimes epiphany.
I think it is a great manifestation of the divinity of the human race as children of God, that we have spirits that are offspring to the supreme being of the universe.

we used to call that a rush in the 70s.
like a emotional raise in the mind... and you get this tingling feeling all over, especially your arms and back.
sort of a instant euphoria thing.. rather superficial. you're releaseing endorphins and that's a good thing...
let it happen, it's good for you.

I believe you are actually thinking of "frisson". Otherwise known as a cold chill.
From wikipedia:
"brought about by emotionally triggered response/ when one is deeply affected by things such as music, speech, or recollection."
