I am almost 35 and just starting to feel like settling down. I have been wild until a couple of years ago. All of my friends are married, hitched, and/or have kids and I do not have those things yet.
Times are different from our parents when they settled down by 22 years of age.
Also, many of my friends who are married are on their 2nd and even 3rd marriages.
I would rather be the one to settle down later in life after being wild than divorcing!!!!!! I feel that the later I find my soul mate and settle down...the more likely it is that I have a lasting marriage!

As a happily married man, I fall towards the marry side. I still like to party, and I have married a woman who indulges me far more than is common, but I know where to draw the line. There is a sense of stability and support that can only come from a deep relationship with one person. It doesn’t have to eliminate other relationships, though. Find someone who has the same outlook on relationships as you do, and you will be happier for the rest of your life.

At 39, you are not a wild child. You are now becoming a lonely old man. You need to take life seriously, if you ever want kids and a family. Honestly, it is up to you. If you want to settle down, find the right woman, take your time, and do it. If not, don't. Either way, live how you want to live.

DO BOTH, the love of your life will also love to party!
Why so many people think that marriage is like entering a cult - you have to put all your imagination and ideas and things you love aside and do whatever society expects of you (and what's that I wonder?)
Marriage (or living together for that matter) just means you decided to share your life with someone, nothing more or else. You don't change your life ideals, at least you shouldn't.
If you do you blame her in the future.

A pretty cruel hard reality when you get slapped in the face and realize that maybe it is time to grow up a little, huh? However, with the right mate, you can still have your wild crazy party lifestyle. You will have to decide what kids of mate you want, though. One who will be exclusively your's, and you exclusively her's, or one that will swing with you.

I think you should go for it. I'm 47 and still alone after an 8 year relationship that didn't work out tho' we're still friends. I like being alone in a lot of ways but it does get lonely and I think it would be nice to have someone to grow old with, do stuff, etc. Good Luck with you endeavors.

At 39, I think it is time to give up your wild child side and find yourself a sould mate. You cannot believe how good that will make you feel. You can always be a weekend warrior.

Sounds like you're ready. It's fine living life but as you are finding, there comes a time when it gets boring and you need someone special.
Good luck in your search.
