I have a guy friend who told me he is interested in me, but when we talk, I mean, when I talk, I have to prompt him to speak to me. He doesn't seem to have the capacity to carry on a conversation apart from responding to a posed question. I have never personally had this problem with any other guy I have ever known, but, who knows, maybe he's just shy. Is it normal for a guy who claims to be interested in you to have to be prompted to speak? I think he's a nice guy, but should I just move on?

If you like him, give him time. He is probably so enamored of you that he gets quiet when you're together.
Keep prompting. He'll come around.

Hello. I am one of these so called shy guys. I can tell you that although people do come out and speak, there are some people in the world that do need the prompting. This is a fact of life. Personally, when I speak up it's because it's urgent too. Otherwise, I keep my words to myself. Now don't get me wrong. I met a wonderful girl a long while back who i'm dating now. You can make it work. If you have q's just ask!
