If God can't lie, then so much for God being omnipotent!

If God lies, then is that a good and righteous lie? Also, if God says something that was previously untrue, does it become true just because God said it?

God Cannot lie. He is Truth.....

Tricky, tricky, tricky....

If you look in the Bible at John 14:6 it reads "Jesus answered, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

I believe that God cannot lie, nor would he ever want to. If he was to lie then everything about him would be a lie, period. He has proved to me throughout my entire life that he is not a lie and that he loves me and only wants my love in return.

God is still omnipotent. He is also omniscient, he knows that people will continue to question him. He encourages us to find our answers in him, in Matthew 7:7-8 "Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened." God says this because his "word" the Bible is the truth. He has encouraged you questions because he is only and ever will be truth, everything he has stated can be proven by pursuing God. Knowing God takes faith, focus, and follow through, God assures us that we will be rewarded for this.

I know where you are going with this question, yes, if God wanted to lie then I suppose he could. But I know that he loves us to much to do that, it would ruin everything that he has ever been to myself or anyone else. Let me put this just one more way. Say you are married to the love of your life, it is the marriage you dreamed of it being. Your entire marriage is based on one thing, truth, it has to be to make it work. One lie messes up the years of trust that you both have built in each other. You can imagine the disaster! That is only in comparison to you and your partner, now magnify that to God and the world. So no, God will never, or could never tell a lie. He loves us that much.

I like this question, I really do. This one takes a bit of thought. For those of you who missed his point: Can GOD do everything? Answer NO!, but not for the reason you may think. GOD cannot, not be GOD. In short, HE'S stuck with the job. This man is asking, "Can GOD lie?" If not, then GOD cannot do everything. It's one of many logic traps. But, not a lethal one.
There are many things about GOD that appear to be contradictory. This is not due to GOD being less than GOD, this is due to our level of understanding. So you won't think I am using the standard preacher cop out, "GOD works in mysterious ways, it is not for us to understand etc, etc. I'll give you a few of our apparent contradictions taken from my working days of old.
Electrical current passes from (-) to (+).
Electrical current passes from (+) to (-).
A particle can travel from point 'A" to point 'B' without leaving point 'A'.
A particle can pass from 'A' to point 'B' without ever traveling in the area between point 'A' and point ('B')
A particle can travel from point 'A' to point 'B' and arrive at point 'B' before it left point 'A'
Now if you are having trouble with these, don't take on GOD, you're not equipped. And yes, GOD can lie as GOD created the lie as GOD created the all. The question then becomes, does SHE?

There are two possible explanations. God doesn't exist, or God lies. By using the term "God" I am assuming you are referring to the Judeo-Christian God so here's the problem. If every Christian believes in the exact same God and asks him the exact same question about their religion, God would either have to give them all the correct answer, or he would be lying to some or all of them. Because there are so many denominations of Christianity, God must lie to some people. Either that or the Judeo-Christian God doesn't exist and people are making their conversations with God up.

God cannot lie.
Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

This is because the Word of God has power.
Genesis 1:3 And God said, "Let there be light: and there was light."
If God said, "The grass is purple," it would be.

The bible at first seems to have Good and Evil, then when you finish reading it you realize that you are no where closer to God. Almost like if the pages are blank and you have to believe what you want to believe. If you have a dark heart then you will seen Satan as God, if you have a good heart, God will be shown to you. Others just believe in God's grace out of desperation. The truth is God doesn't exist and man doesn't know why he is here. All we know is that we are all alone in a dying planet, abandoned with nothing. We are living in a world of sand. We built and see what we create ourselves in our heads.

Here is a question for you ,"Do you think god can create anything? If so, can he create a rock even he/she cannot lift?" God is all powerful and mighty, it matter not what he says but the fact that what ever he says is law.
