I would go with option (d). My feeling is, can't we have just a little more imagination about what our vast cosmos signifies? How much spiritual progress have me made in the last 2000 years, other than revising passages in the Bible that won't stand up to legal scrutiny? For example, "God told me to do it" isn't going to cut it in a criminal proceeding. Christians cherry-pick the parts of the Bible that still work for them and discard the rest, like the stoning of adulteresses. (Hey, it's illegal, okay?). Muslims, on the other hand, have a stricter adherence to their "scripture." More's the pity.

I think I fall into the everybody else category, lol. And I don't think that the others are making the world such a bad place, just impossible to have a decent, respectful sharing of beliefs. ( And when I say others, I don't mean EVERY single person in the other religions so don't take it that way.)

My perception of religion is- hypocrisy denial and dysfunctional, an institution that controls the hopeless and the lost, creating vast fortunes on the backs of these poor souls. Out of all the scams that man has to deal with in this world today not one even comes close to the religious fanatics that religion creates today.

Religion gets its bad name from the insecure, and unstable. Every group has these members, and you can't blame them for it, even thought sometimes they may bring your group down, you just have to work harder to pick up the slack, and help those who need it. Unfortunatly sometimes these unstable folks get incharge of being religious figures, and their distorted veiw of the world allows for them to dirty up the world a bit. You can't le these people be the representatives of the group, you just have to remember that they have problems like everyone else, and hope they remember where they put their medication.

I think your grotesque oversimplification of the issues of religious interaction is indicative of precisely the ignorance and prejudice that contribute to the violence you so dislike.

Everybody is wrong, man must never know he can never be right. In order to live you must die, in order to laugh, you must cry, in order to have faith, there must be doubt, everything creates it's contradiction. In order for light to exist, darkness must exist. In order for sanity to exist there must be insanity. Prove me wrong and you'll be proving me right.
