Actually that is not funny. I thought I was the only one this has ever happened to. My parents didn't want any of us to know. It was at a family gathering that I overheard some relatives talking. I approached them and stood behind so I could hear because they were whispering and looking at my brother/sister. I wish that I wasn't so nosy, I didn't need to hear them. They were saying things like, "Max knew when he married her there was a slim chance of all this." It seemed as if everyone was looking around the room and talking about my family as if we were not there.

I finally got both of my parents and took them outside.. I was to the point and honest. They could sense something was not right but they allowed me to lead the parade, so to speak. I jumped in with, "mom, dad, I am going to ask you a question and I want the truth.Do not try and protect me. O.K. here goes, is my brother/sister actually my sister/brother?"

There I asked it and it was out in the open. I knew by the horror I could see in their eyes that I was right. It was a bit harder to tell with dad because he never cleans his glasses. But, yes, it was horror that I was seeing in between what looked like spit.

So, there you have it. In answer to your question, NO, I could not imagine my brother/sister being my sister/brother. We are working on it as a family unit. Hopefully, some day we will all be better people for the truth coming out.
