I'm a hair dresser, you need a curl defining moose you buy at a salon and when your hair is wet fresh out of the shower dry it a little by scrunching it with paper towel yes paper! then put a little not much cause it foams up of moose in ur hand scrunch that in and stop there or use a difuser on your blowdryer to really bring out the curl. Gel does not work stop using it! Let me know how that goes...

Try using mouse first all over then use gel, make sure the gel is good and made for curls. After you mouse your hair, take the gel in your hands and fingers and take sections and make sure you get it really good. After you get your hair gelled then run a wide tooth comb thru it. After that, get your blow dryer with a difuser and start scrunching your hair in your hands and blow dry slowly, keep doing that all the way around. If you see you hair starting to frizz, take some gel in your fingertips and re gel that particular piece, Take your timem you will get it.

yea my friend has that problem,
we experimented with some ways and this worked for her, maybe it will for you too,

-if u get your hair wet wen u crunch it, this is why it gets poofy, trust me!

-after u get out of the shower, blow dry your hair, or just let it air dry, but when its almost dry brush it really good then load it up with gel or moose then crunch it,

if you are trying to scrunch it as i am imagining (squeezing it in your hand for semi wavy hair and volume) use mousee and not gel. gel will weigh down your hair. another semi permanent option would be to get it layered (long not short layers)... this will give it style and volume.

another option for a more natural look, try a serum (i like john freida and biosilk).

ok well if your hair isnt curly or wavy to begin with you shouldnt scrunch it. but if it is then try moose instead of gel.
