Honestly, I'm no atheist(and have no problem with them) but just that concept. To worship seems like slavery. I hope one day I will understand how that works for people. Also, please don't pray for me, your mental thoughts might actually lower my awareness

Getting on one's knees to ask for "salvation" seems like an iffy proposition, doesn't it? Wouldn't one have to know God's gender to avoid the supposed sin of homosexuality? And why would worshippers be "God-fearing"? Isn't it strange to fear the one you're supposedly serving properly?

WOW man you are.. again that is the most passive agressive thing ive seen all day.

You need to stop wondering how it works for people and just seek and understanding... on your own.. without people coaxing you and bashing you over the head with the biblical gavel.

If what people say about god turns you off or.. in my cases.. pisses you off.. then.. you already KNOW it doesent feel right isnt right and uh.. quite frankly might as well be slavory.. if yor being coherced into beleaving something you dont.

Dont be defensive just ignore the static of retribution and rightious fury and the sin and hell fire and start figuring out.. on your own what feel truthful and correct and more important REASONABLE.. by all means.. dont find a jim jones kinda thing.. if someone says they got all the answers run as far away from them as you can and seek a source thats a little more truthful.

And Im just going to pray for you.. that.. maybe.. you do find a.. spirituality that makes you feel empeowerd and happy in life?

and about your awareness.. if you think for a moment anyone but you screws with your awareness then your sadly mistaken.. your not a victim to anyone but your own descisions.. figure that one out and you might get a clue as to why so many people act like morons in the world.

True Christians worship God & give Him praise: out of love & adoration for our heavenly father, and all he has done for us in our live, etc... not out of slavery: bondage: or even a sense of duty.

This is no more a crazier concept, as all the love, adoration/worship shown on a daily basis, to the top pop, rock, hip-hop stars, celebrities, & movie stars, etc.

And sorry, but like many others … ‘I do pray for you’ … that your ‘Awareness’ will be enlightened!!

God Bless.

A lot of people that worshipping God is crazy because you can't touch, feel, smell, or talk to Him. For most people, they need something that they can identify with. Worshipping God means that you have to believe in the unseen and know that whatever happens, God is always going to be there.

Worshiping God does seem crazy to anybody who does not have a personal relationship with Him. It seemed that way to me before I knew Jesus as my personal savior. I will not pray for you as you ask so that your awareness may stay at peak efficiency in order that you may become aware of the true and living God. Peace be with you on your quest for understanding.

Imagine this: (Even if you don't want to believe it) God is the creator of this earth. He made all humans in His image. He send His Son to die for the sins of mankind. (This is called "the fall," it happened when Adam and Eve disobeyed God) His Son, Jesus dies in order to pay the price that was on our heads for sin. If you believe that, you are saved for the penalty of death and will live forever. Do you think that it would only be natural to want to thank the God who saved you from eternal damnation? Being a Christian simply means recognizing you were born with a sin problem, and seeing Jesus' death as the only remedy for this problem. Christians want to show God their gratitude for sacrificing His Son so that we have life. Worship is a great way to let God know how you feel, we are born to show our Creator glory. God gave us all a free will - the decision is ours. There aren't rules on worship, it is for the individual to decide when and how much. (Remember, even if you don't want to believe it, or won't, that won't change the facts.)

Because a lot of them put God before fellow man, and even family quite often, and I'm sure any God worth worshipping wouldn't want it that way. I'm sure some of those wild ceremonies don't help the image. Overall, however, I think it is more sane to believe than not.

You're right! Why would an omnipotent being create a bunch of "lesser" beings for the sole purpose to worship it? If God is omnipotent, what purpose would worship serve? If that is the truth, which I highly doubt, then God is an A55HOLE!

Worshipping actually has some basis in civilizing savage people.

More civilized people can simply be grateful for what they have and find ways to help others to spread that gratitude around. Humans are a social species, after all.

worship is an act of doing. when you worship whatever you show your gratitude and gratification for what and who you worship. God. to worship God is an act of doing whether, it be by helping others, singing if you want .Doing the work of the Lord. paying your tithes. whatever. Just giving him praise for him. it seems crazy, because it is not understood by many, neglected by some, refused by more, hated by the rest. usually what one doesn't understand one mocks and finds crazy. differences
