When I take a movie from my camera it saves it as a .avi file. Then when I try to upload in onto certain sites is has to be under 100mb in size. The movie is 500mb. Is there anyway ( I know I might lose some quality ) to somehow make the video smaller WITHOUT shortening it?? Thank you for you help.

yeah use windows movie maker (or go to google and search for free video converters) and make it smaller, but instead of 14- 20 mb id choose around 90-100mb for quality, unless your not too big on that, which is fine, or you got a slow internet connection which is fine as well, some people do.
theres a converter for ipods, you might be able to upload the converted video although im not sure what kind of file ipod files are. you can give it a shot: http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/

Yes, by using editing software like pinnacle, nero, etc. then saving your work using mpeg4 video format (this format is better than the others since it is also used to compressed videos for ipod use) without cutting or shortening the video length.
WMmaker only have resolution settings which is not advisable since that will degrade your video, unlike video compression, you retain almost same quality.
suggest you download free editing software at the net that has mpeg4, divX compression settings.

use window movie maker , and make a WMV with 14 or 20 MB the most. just select 350 KPBS selection when making the movie in Windows movie maker.
