i went through something like this with a friend of mine. she was addicted to crack and still is. i've known her for about sixteen years.. we grew up together. she's used off and on for years. (be through rehab i don't know how many times) she'd call me crying, begging me to come get her out of the projects or whatever motel she ended up in. she'd tell me she didn't know why she did it and that she was stupid and wanted to stop.. and then she'd just keep doing it. then she got pregnant on one of her crack binges. i thought if anything would change her it would be her child.. but when he was one month old she kept putting him off on me and her mother while she'd go smoke crack. he ended up getting sick and she wouldn't come home to take him to the doctor so he got taken away from her. she did a lot to get him back but she recently slipped up again. the last slip up was the finally straw for me. i can't deal with her selfishness anymore.
and i hate to say this.. but you should think about cutting your loses now or you might end up like me and just keep getting your heart broken over and over again watching your friend waste her life away. then again.. maybe your friend is different. i hope she is, for your sake. i hope she can change.

First And Foremost..I am So Sorry To Hear About Your Friend. She Is Very Blessed To Have A Friend Like you.
Your Right She Has To Want To Stop In Order To Stop Doing The Drug.
I Can Only Tell You That You Can Try Getting Her To An NA Meeting(Narcotics Anonymous). They Are Allover The City And Even Have some On-Line Meetings You Can Try First.
She Sounds Like She Might Need to Go Into A Clinic To Get Help Though. They Have 28-Day Programs, Where You Go And Stay In A Place And Help You Get Cleaned Up,Counseling, And Get To Speak To Others With The Same Disease Of Addiction.
God, Has Put You By Her To Help Her, You Are Doing All That Can Be Done. Being There For Her May Not Seem Like Much , But It's Alot.
Here Are Some Sites That I Hope Will Help.
Praying For God To Take The Taste Out Of Her Mouth, Is Another Thing You Can Do. Never Underestimate The Power Of Prayer!!

The good thing is that she's asking for help, get her into a treatment center asap. Let the professionals take care of her, its too much for you to try to do it. Even with professional help the chance for recovery are not great. If the treatment center doesn't work than try another one sometimes the timing or personality has to match for it to work. You can try to organize an intervention with friends and family for her to go into a center. Caution: her brain will become more damaged and warped from the use of the drugs, she will become a different person and your life could be in danger. Example: she brings shady people around you, steals from you, her drug buddies kill you etc. She will continue to use because she is trying to fill a void inside her with the meth but it only makes the void bigger etc. etc. She cannot think logically, only react to her compulsions to satisfy her need. Watch the show "intervention" that way you will know how to do an intervention. Even with treatment, she may always be a drug addict for the rest of her life, do not trust drug addicts no matter what. Look up local drug councilers or treatment centers, call them and ask them for advice. There's only so much you can do, after that you have to realize its her problem and her fault and you can't let her end up ruining your life too.

I don't have experience counseling or restoring a meth addict's life.
But I will say, it's at least hopeful, in the sense your friend WANTS to stop. I knew a co-worker who died before she turned 39, and she didn't want to stop.
Meth is a terrible way to die -- your bones just dissolve. Is there anything your friend has to live for? Does she have a passion in life that would give her motivation to accomplish something?
If you have friends who believe in the power of prayer, and are willing to intercede and pray for your friend, tell those who will keep this a private matter, and pray. I don't know what you think of prayer -- but for me, it IS NOT supertitious, or religious. It is powerful.
And I have so many results of how prayer was answered. Wonderful things happened.
I wish I had practical advice regarding who to contact (a hotline, or a place for addicts) ... perhaps someone else will, or you can call someone in the white or yellow pages of your town.
However, DON'T dismiss the power of prayer. Ultimately, the Creator is the maker of all flesh, and nothing is impossible with the Creator.
Truly, prayer is a Life line.

I have known a few people on meth seems it is the drug of choice for alot of people OPRAH just did a show on this also.
People who use want to quit but it is so addicting that they have no choice. She needs some help bad. Even if it take you or some one else to get her help get her help.
My boyfriend of 6 years was on it 21 years ago and quit cold turkey because he had got gain green (I think that is how it is spelled)But that was the only reason he quit was because he about lost his leg from it.Get her help.

one of my friends grandma was doing it! nobody knew until one night he heard her sniffing something the next day everyone left and he pulled it all out onto her bed and left a note saying "grandma, we need to talk." but that did not help her. they kicked her out and she moved to another state and is still on it! First thing I would suggest is to bring up rehab. tell her you will go with her and also tell her u love her and what she is doing is hurting people around her too and only she can make the change. If that doesn't work and u still wan2 help your friend you need to take control! basically wut I'm saying is kidnap her just keep her with you and don't let her do it! she will h8 you but in the end when everything is done she won't because she will realize wut you did was best! remember that no matter how much pain it takes to STOP doing it she will NOT die from it. I really hope this helps you.

I've had to deal with lots of friends on drugs/alcohol... People will resist all attempts at help. They will not get better until they are ready. You have two options. Hang in there, and help them as best you can, but realize you are watching a train wreck in slow motion... the second option is to divorce them as your friend. I don't recommend just walking away. I say you should rudely and brutally confront them with their problem and tell them you are no longer their friend because of it... Tough love. It probably won't help, but it MIGHT slap them back to reality...
Then you just walk... the problems in their life are not your responsibility. Do not blame yourself for not being able to save them...
This, of course, is easier to say than do, especially when the person is a good friend... best of luck to you...

Addiction has dark, tragic depths. Support her, try to reason with her, get her to change her circle of friends, her habits, anything to break the cycle she's in. It ultimately HAS to be her choice and if it's not there isn;t much you or anyone else can do. Let her know you love her and it's hurting you as much as it's killing her.
God bless you both.

Your friend needs rehab. The next time she calls you ask her if she wants to quit. If she says she does make plans with her to go to rehab right then, do not wait as she could change her mind. If she is under 18 talk to her parents as well.
