Thor and Loki. The Norse gods> Can't happen without Oden. Why not use Jupiter, I always enjoyed the Roman gods. Greek mythology, some good reading. For your information it isn't a book. The Old Testament was based on a fraction of 26,000 scrolls. They were stored in Alexandria. Hellenistic Christians and Judeo Christians came together to form the first council. The two groups had opposing views and the meeting solidified both groups into a fledgling belief system. It wasn't until 2 A.D that the council of Nicea hammered out the teachings of the apostles into what became the New Testament. The Catholic church relies on scientific investigation of relics which by the way fill two complete buildings. The initial relics were gathered by the emperor Charlemagne's mother. There is and has been a great deal of investigation into the past and the answers support the (book) you mention. I will over simplify one quote " You who see Me believe but, greater is the faith of those who do not see Me yet still believe. Take a guess at who I'm talking about. By the way if you ever end up looking down the barrel of a gun let me know how fast your mind changes.

Your answer is there a God comes from science!
"that Book" as you called it said what was there before you scientist did. For instance, Before dinosaurs remains were even dicovered, That Book, Already said That Gian't walked the earth
When your scientist said You know what we have proof that the earth was flooded at one time. WELL DAH!
I know its a dog eat, dog world, and you don't know where to go there are so many folks out there says this is right, others say no its not, But instead of making a mistake and totally pushing the Idea of theres no God out, Just pick up a bible and you disern what you feel in YOUR own heart is truth, the go on line and find a group of folks that believe the same as you
Is it easy for you to believe that something so complex as the human Body could have ever developed with out a supreme being? Any way you look at it something had to have always been there. the world, a single celled organism, the univerce.
So why would it be so hard to accept that there has always been a supreme power

I can go into a chemistry lab or physics lab and produce a vacuum to show the absence of air. I can even simply deprive a living being, say, an insect, of air and observe it struggle to breathe.
If sufficiently motivated, I can add water vapor to air and color it so that I CAN see it.
I want to see somebody do anything remotely analogous with the god cult figures, or stop claiming the 'air' fable.
Now, for me, I believe that there is (or was) a Creator that somehow unleashed the elements or process or both that has resulted in what we call our universe. Like the Deists, I take for proof the evidence of my own senses.
However, I have yet to see any religion make any sense whatsoever. Most are simply control vehicles, and the rest are flawed morality systems. I learned this from many, many years of the finest quality religious instruction and historical education.

God works on a "system" of faith.
If we didn't need to even believe in faith that God exists, then we would become really lost -- even easier than many do.
If proof was right before our eyes all the time, then faith would be impossible -- and God works within the context of faith.
Our lives are a testiment to our faith -- as we have "seen" Him work in our own lives to the point that we are convinced to the extent that we need to be convinced.
I don't need any more convincing. God is very real and I absolutely know that.
The Bible is not just a book, It is several books all authored by different men who lived at varying times and under different sets of circumstances. It was inspired by God and the Holy Spirit -- but it is historically accurate -- every word of it. It all fits.
100 yeasr froom now or 1000 years from now, no one will need proof that 9-11 happened. They didn't see it and all they have will be waht is written and reported -- but they will know it is true.
The Bible is like thousands of newpaper reports that all are accurate and all fit together historically with one another. That is proof to me as well.

NO. My proof is the life I lived before and the life I live now through the grace of God.
All I know is that before I asked Christ to come into my heart, I was just like everyone else - always on the lookout for the next 'HIGH' or the next "Thing". I was swayed by opinions and subject to the influence of people I saw as 'cool'.
When the Holy Spirit is in control, you don't give a rip about cool, you only care about what's best for the Kingdom of God.

For years, I've listened to people bicker about this subject.
As a Christian, that is, one who follows the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, called the Christ, I wish believers would just stop trying to cram their religion down unbelievers' throats. It is a totally unnecessary waste of both parties' time.
One: they need to take a tip from their supposed Master when He criticized certain religious leaders for harrasing people in an attempt to convert them. By the time these ignorant zealots where finished with someone they were worse off than they would have been if they had just been left alone!
Two, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there something in "The Book" about treating others the way you would want to be treated?
Selah and Good Night, Gracie!

No other book has lasted as long as the Bible.
No other book has been persecuted like the Bible.
No other book has changed my life like the Bible.
The proof is in its life-changing power. I've seen many lives
changed and many people delivered from drugs and the sins
of this world, including me, because of this book. A wise man
would at least thumb through a book that has endured and done
so much.

I was the same as you are right know and you know what, I just didn't know! I was sitting on a bar stool when the bartender asked me what church I went to. I just about fell off the stool. After that night, the next day I found a Bible that my grandmother had got me for my birthday. I got down on my knees just like in the movies and I promised God I would give him a year to prove to me he was real and you know what he did. I started reading the bible and he came walking right out of the pages. He will do the same for you if you just give him a chance. If you say with your mouth and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead you shall be saved. First you must believe that he is before he will show himself to you. My sheep shall hear my voice. If you listen closely you can hear him calling your name.

No, the Word of God is not the only proof.
The proof is seen in people's lives, as billions of people have trusted God.
Countless people's lives have been transformed by the power of God.
For me, I know that God exists, because I have a daily relationship with Him. I experience first hand Him working out His plan and purpose for my life.
Also, you only have to look around you to see that there is a Creator.

I am not a Christian but I know enough to say that all that is around you to a true believing Christian is proof that there is an almight - not just what is written in a book. Even the fact that someone with your obvious disbelief in such notions further proves that there is a high power in the universe.
