Depends on the placement test. Is it for entering the public school from another school/district/private school/homeschool? Or is this a college-level placement test?

If it's an elementary or secondary test, it could be used to skip you ahead, but that depends on the school district - some will move you ahead, some won't.

If we're talking about a college placement test, that's just to make sure you're put into the course sequence at the right place.

i dont think so i think it just takes you to a higher/advanced class. because i had taken an advanced english placement test and they gave me the choice of going to a regular english class or taking the advanced. but that is what they do in my school i dont really know how it would be with ne one else.
