Got a sharp pain in my bottom molar when cold touches it. Not a cavity!! Don't know what it is... Anyone have ideas?

its either a nerve thats close to the top or its cracked!

It could be a cavity on the root or even a crack in the bottom of the tooth where you can't see it. I had one on the root and it about killed me until they did the x-ray and found it.

It is possible that the tooth may be getting abcest (not sure if thats correct spelling)
