there is a plaza and a grocery store behind my housed,with a concrete wall in between, the stores dumpsters are located behind my house, you cant even sit in my backyard because of the stinch, flies, and rats that come out at night, i have complained to the store managers and the health department. does anyone know what steps i should take? and is there any law how close a dumpster can be to a neighborhood ?

Monday morning, call the Health Department and make a FORMAL complaint. Take Photos! Then, Call you local TV Station and tell them that you have photos and they WILL come out and make a BIG deal out of it. That will cause the store to FIX IT!

there are three groups of people that might help1.the other neighbors 2. local politicians 3.the local news media.newspaper,t.v. don't over look grocery store owners if local. get help if contacting regional management of chain.Who Is the landlord for the grocery store?Can you get other tenants of the retail complex into helping out, such as flies, rats in adjoining restaurant do no one any good.

you can go to the polices,or keep asking them to move it.it mite not be to smart but if you are brave you cloud take trash from the Dumpster and dump it in the back of the store outside.butt you probably should not do that,or report it to everyone you know.

You should probably bring it to the attention of your city health and zoning department. Call your town/city hall and ask this same question.
