Hello
I do not know if anyone has answered you question yet. There is a scripture that I know off hand and I am sure I can fin more if you would like. The scripture is Hebrews 10: 24 and 25.
It is also only natural I think that people of like faith want to gather together so they do. Also in the old testiment in the 10 comandments it says keep the Sabath. I hope I helped. My e mail is wbyrnes100@hotmail if I can help you further.
Thanks for listening Bill

THEY met in an Upper Room!
Christians worship every day but gather to worship on the first day of the week, on SUNDAY.
-- Read 1 Corinthians 16:2. And Acts 20:7. And Hebrews 10:25.
Christians do not gather to observe the Saturday Sabbath.

NIV Translation:
Acts 2.42-47 - "They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to the fellowship.... All the believers were together and everything in common.... Every day they continued to meet together in the tempe courts..."
Hebrews 10.25 - "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching."
Now, if you are refering to going to a specific building on a spefic day, these scriptures certainly don't say "every faithful person MUST ATTEND THE CORNER CHURCH EVERY SUNDAY AT 10 A.M."
On the other hand, if you view the church experience as an opportunity to spend time with others who share your faith and encouragement in a relationship with God, then I believe these scriptures are totally valid in answering your question because they address the importance of fellowship.

4 th commandment can be inferred as church attendance
Hebrews 10: 25. NOT FORSAKING THE ASSEMBLING OF OURSELVES TOGETHER, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Makes it pretty clear...... Don't it.
It was also the custom of Jesus and the disciples to gather at the synagogue on Sabbath. Are we not to follow HIs example?
Boy-- ask don - below me is on a terror about defending Sunday worship....Who asked about that?

the bible talks about how "brethren should dwell together in unity" and "exhort one another daily" it talks about how Jesus was in the temple daily. In the bible Christians are refered to as "The Church" when Paul wrote his letters, most of them were directed to "the church at (fill in the blank)
The overall theme of the bible is for believers to be together and united, one of the five-ministry gifts the bible says god gave us is the "pastor"
...thats all i can think of right off the top of my head.

Act's2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place........Revlations.20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.Mat 5 1-13 And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.
5:1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
When Jesus was preaching he had mulitudes he was preaching toa church indoors or out it was still a Church.. Church is to draw you closer to God to uplift and teach and yes i know they are all full of hyprocites but you have to go for yourself not cause of what there doing and not let that discourage you God know it all.
