I tried this a long time ago when I was 14 (I'm almost 25 now) and that was to swish with liquid Benedryl and Maalox together and spit. I don't know if that's good enough or not. But how do I stop this itchy feeling in my tongue? I can't put Gold Bond on it. Eating acid foods (i.e. oranges) make it worse.

Any ideas?

You may have thrush-a yeast infection in the mouth, it cases the tongue to be itchy and sore, you need a prescription from the doctor, an antifungal. Do not use listerine or any other mouth wash. Mouthwash will make the infection worse. The reason for the infection is- you have natural yeast growing in your mouth, antibiotics and aniseptic mouthwashes kill the natural bacteria in the mouth that controlls the overgrowth of yeast. You need an oral antifungal medication to treat it.

Buy a tongue scraper. And swish with listerine. If that doesnt work chew it off. Or just go see your dental hygenist.

when you brush your teeth you need to brush your tongue too. as far back as you can go. do it every day along with your teeth and soon the itching will go away. the reason it itches is that there is bacteria on your tongue causing your skin to crack making it feel that way.
