When I'm working on a crossword puzzle in a book or the paper; I tend to use a pencil so that in case I noticed I made an error that I can erase the bad answer and continue. I tend to use a pink wedge eraser; but it tends to smudge the pencil markings on my page. I am wondering what is a "better" eraser that would not smudge nor rip my puzzle?

scan and save isn't an option. If someone can help tell me what eraser won't rip or smudge that would be great.

Go to an arts supply store and purchase a knead-able artists eraser. It's the one they use when drawing with charcoal. If that is too wimpy check around for a smooth flat white eraser. Ask the sales person to help, it's been a long time since I did any drawings. Newer better erasers come out all the time.

Hope this helps, good luck and have fun with the crosswords!

Scan and save a copy before you start. Then you don't have to worry about erasing.
