If your child doesn't ask anything you don't need to tell it anything yet. Mostly when children are ready for it they start asking questions and it's important that when they do you answer them in all honesty. Four year old children have mostly far other things on their minds or it must be that their mammy is expecting a little baby brother or baby sister and they see their mammy's belly grow. This can cause and interest in how that little baby came in there and how it can grow or when they walk into your bedroom somewhere in the night because something woke them up and you and your husband or partner are making love they might want to know what you are doing and in this case it's only normal to act naturally and answer the question in a simple for the child understandable way and of they go back to play again or back to bed to fall soundly asleep.

Depends on what you tell them. Don't give them any more information than they ask for. For instance, age 4 isn't too young to know that (1) sex is a special kind of hug that grownups do (2) sex is something private; people don't do it while others are looking; we only talk about it with our family, and (3) babies come from men and women having sex. But if they don't ask, don't bring it up.

four maybe pushing it, but really it is up to you. Your the parent. It is important for a child to feel comfortable when he or she has questions, and it is possible for a child to be curious at a young age. There are ways to explain to them without going into too much detail. Once you start talking to them about it they probably get bored and maybe even forget what you are talking about so that will give you time until the next time they come to you. It comes with the whole package of being a parent.

You supply answers to questions a child asks........Enough info that they can understand. I dont expect a 4 year old really is asking sexual questions. Perhaps you're reading more into the subject than the child needs to know at age 4.

If they are asking then I would just tell them as little as possible but do not lie. At that age they will not understand much. I would wait if they are still asking about 7 then tell them but only to thier level.

thats too early, and if you even bring up the subject. they'll be curious....and thats when you'll get problems. Personally I think it's better to let them find out through school health classes. And then talk to them about it during that time. I'm sure they'll have questions waiting for you.

To be honest with you, in this day and age.. you had better start telling kids as soon as you give birth to them.. They are getting younger and younger with having sex...
