Therefore, since we have more scientific knowledge now, can we say Harry Potter is real?

As long as we're using the "It says it exists so it must be true" tactic, the hieroglyphs of ancient Egypt say that Ra exists, and the Epic of Gilgamesh was written on clay tablets and says that Apsu and Tiamat exist, so obviously we can assume THEY exist, as well, because their writings say so, and the pre-date the Bible.

Harry Potter is real. There are many people named Harry Potter.

As for God, you cannot conclusively prove one way or another, but the scientific evidence supports it.

No scientist can submit documented proof of anything creating itself. Likewise, the laws of bio-genesis and thermodynamics make a creation without a creator impossible.

Far less than 1% of the universe has been explored. To state that there is no God is the same as examining one square inch of soil in New Jersey, and upon finding no trace of gold in that soil, stating that not only is there no gold in all of New Jersey, there is no such thing as gold at all.

It is scientific to conclude that there is a God, and unscientific to state in any absolute way that there is no God.

Do you actually think you are the first to question these things? Have you not paid attention to the results of these questions that have been asked for centuries now? There is so much information out there, why repeat questions already asked and do some research into such.
What have you seen about scientists questioning the existence of Harry Potter? What foolishness? What irrational thinking?
Yes we have much scientific knowledge out there, but thinking as you do it surprising that you still aren't questioning that the world is flat.

Technically, most of the supporting texts were written well before bronze age.

Look, God is a personal belief. Really nothing more. Either you believe in a guiding force for the creation of the universe or you don't.

I believe in God, and I believe Jesus was a manifestation of God, and I believe if we don't start following some of his teachings, and Mohammed's, and Buddha's, we are going to kill ourselves off as a race. Note: Their teachings, not their followers interpretations. Those peoples records are abysmal.

We have to start treating our fellow man as we would be treated, or there is not going to be any fellow man or us left.

Now the Bible and Jesus said some things that were unheard of in the Middle East at the time. Still are unheard of by the looks of it.

You can do worse things than believe in those teachings, whoever wrote them.

Men were inspired by God when they wrote the books of the Bible . Harry potter was written by a man , but he wasn't inspired by God . If you read the Bible sorcery is of the devil and whoever practices it will have no place in the Kingdom of God . Revelation 21:8

Yeah what is all this Bronze age buisness about? The Bible was written long before that.
I belive there is a God because I have seen and felt His hand in my life and that of my family.
And you yourself are proof. That you are so afraid that there IS a God that you LOST 5 pts by asking this question and I RECIEVED 2pts for anwering. You lose - I win. Got it?
The Bible mentions you by name. Did you know that. In Psalms 14:1 and people like you even have a holiday named in your honor. Did you know that?

What does the bronze age have to do with anything? Do you have proof that men in the bronze age were any stupider than they are now?

Harry Potter is a fiction novel so your question is a non sequiter.

Techically, since there's only ONE Bible but SEVEN (is it more than seven?) Harry Potter books, we can assume that Harry Potter is 7 times more likely to exist than God.

P.S. 'Impossible Dream' is delusional. ALL the religious people I know believe in God because their parents, friends and church told them to.

Mojo, I'm an atheist, but even I know that religion is a real part of a lot of intelligent peoples lives. A question like yours is just baiting. Very few people believe in God because the Bible says so. Most have very real, very complex reasons, some of which they may not understand themselves. Do not belittle people just because you don't agree with them.

God is life. I don't assume a "god" exist, my common sense tells me it is so just like common sense tells me if I jump in front of a car I'm going to get hurt. Do I really need to take that leap of fath to find out if it's reality or not? By you being alive than life itself should touch you and show you the divinity within every living being.I know god exist. For I am God.
