The fastest way to lose weight and keep it off is 30 minutes of exercise a day and eating healthy, moderate meals. Keep your metabolism up by eating 6 small meals of healthy foods a day. Then you will lose five pounds pretty quickly.
By the way, if you just eat salad and water, you'll basically be starving your body of the nutrition it needs. Salad is basically water, with a few minerals. But it's not sufficient for all day every day if you're going to be active.

firstly, you are not getting enough calories and your body will soon think it's starving and start conserving every calorie that you do take in. you need to eat a balanced diet that includes foods that are rich in fiber, nutrients, and vitamins and low in saturated and trans fats. eat a variety of high fiber, brightly colored fruits/berries and vegies along with low fat protein such as soy products, fish, chicken, lean turkey and ham, low/nonfat dairy products and whole wheat, whole grain, high fiber, cereals, oatmeal, crackers, breads and torillas. you NEED to exercise incorporating both cardio and resistance and weight training into your routine. building muscle helps to keep your metabolism revving even at rest. start with 30 minutes of cardio 4 days a week. after a month, increase the time to 40 minutes 4-6 days a week and include weight/resistance work 3-4 days. when you eat, eat 3 moderate, balanced meals with 3 healthy snacks. drink plenty of water and green tea every day. they will help flush out toxins from your body and keep you hydrated. treat your body with respect and keep it healthy and it will pay you back. get a pedometer and strive for at least 10,000 steps a day. if you crave something sweet or fatty, have 1/2 a serving. you are human and it will not hurt you to have 1/2 or one serving of cake or cookies as long as you don't over indulge. good luck.

The answer is NO. And no diet works, and if you lose anything it is short term and water weight andyou will gain 2x the fat back. this so called "diet" does not sound like a winner at all.
Why not go for a lifestyle change diet? This one is a guarantee to lose weight and be healthy at the same time and for you lifetime! Eat healthy, excercise and lose weight and feel great!Good Luck!

Read this excerpt from the book "Dieting for Dummies" by Jane Kirby: "Don't cut your calorie level drastically when trying to lose weight; this strategy will backfire. Your body is programmed to defend your usual weight, so when calories are cut severely - to fewer than 800 to 1,000 a day - your metabolic rate adjusts to conserve the few calories you do give your body."
The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:
*1) Burn more calories then you're consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity minus the Thermic Effect of Food (TEF). A website that explains this formula in more detail and will help you determine how many calories you need to reach or maintain a certain weight is at http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/library/weight/calsburned.htm
Get an online, desktop, or cell phone diet and fitness calculator. This will allow you to easily calculate the above formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.
Set realistic goals for your ideal body weight. Here are two websites that will calculate a suggested body weight:
Adults: http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.htm
Teens/Children: http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/exercise/weight/bmi.html
It is difficult and unhealthy to lose more than one or two pounds per week. There are 3,500 calories in a pound. If you eat 500 fewer calories per day for a week you will lose one pound. If you burn through exercise 500 more calories per day for a week you will lose one pound.

*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.
Do not try fad diets or diet pills. Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as potatoes) and drink lots of water. Read this article for more information on high GL Carbs:

*3) Perform cardiovascular, core, and/or strength training on most days. Read a book or find a certified trainer to make sure you're doing all exercises correctly.

*4) Get plenty of sleep. Sleep experts say most adults need between seven and nine hours of sleep each night for optimum performance, health, and safety.
*5) Educate yourself continually on health issues and make a life long commitment to good health. A great free publication is “Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005”. A reputable test you can take to measure your biological age is at http://realage.com
Look at all areas where you can enhance your health. For example, make improvements in the quality of the air you breathe. Review outdoor air quality forecasts where you live and get an indoor air purifier.
