I'm not sure exactly when that model was made, but it's part of a long series of Polaroid cameras based on the OneStep and Pronto of the late 1970s. It uses Polaroid 600 film, which is still available. You should be able to find it in camera shops and larger retailers such as Wal-Mart or similar chains in your area. The battery COMES WITH the film pack, so the camera won't work without a film pack. It probably has a slider somewhere on the front of the camera to adjust exposure from lighter to darker, which is about all the control these cameras offer. Make sure the rollers built into the front door of the camera are clean. If not, wipe them with a damp cloth or tissue. Water is the only solvent you need. The film residue that gets on them is made up of alkaloids that are soluble in water. The film pack can be inserted only one way. If it won't go in easily, you need to turn it over. The side with the two metal contacts should face the bottom of the camera. Push the film pack all the way in, then close the door. If all is well, the camera will whirr and spit out a "dark slide," which is a card that covered the film to protect it from light unti the pack was loaded. Aim the camera at a subject, squeeze the shutter, which should be a button on the front of the camera or a button that slides along the right side of the camera. The camera will whirr and spit out a photo. Take a minute and watch it develop before your eyes. Pretty cool, huh?
