The Gnostic texts, as many other literary pieces, are rarely considered by Christians as God sources, even though they contain much wisdom & truths, as well as "inspired" by the same....The concept that Jesus was as anyone else...human, with human aspects of love, sex, fatherhood, etc...negates the need for idolization, which Christians have used to negate their own responsibilities for their actions/beliefs.

Just for the record, folks, Jesus did love Mary Magdelene, did marry her, and had 3 beautiful children...and if I am not mistaken, of French citizenship, with Mom, Mary, as a happy grandmother.

Well, it's possible. It doesn't say in the Bible that he wasn't. Marriage isn't a sin, it wouldn't have been a sin for Christ to get married. Remember, Christ was a mortal as well as a God. He was baptized, why not married? But it's not a fact. I encourage all to be open minded and remember the Bible doesn't cover everything that happened in Christ's life, just a small portion.

A comment on the extra part. While the painting by Da Vinci may depict an apostle as a female, it's not a photograph. Just an artists thought. Don't give it credit as truth.

I have no problem believing that he could have been. The Bible doesn't say so one way or the other. However just because a conspiracy theory claims that he was, that doesn't mean its so either. Let us remember that when the Last Supper was painted, the artist had never met any of his subjects. To use your logic we would have to assume that since so many paintings portray Jesus as a white man (Sometimes even with blond hair) that it means he was. This is patently in error. The Gospel of Mary has never been accepted as canonical and thats why it was never included in the Bible.

I love it, because this proves that Jesus does have a wife in the future, but it’s not Mary Magdalene, that all these corrupt versions I mentioned promote. Why? The Bible teaches that every born again believer becomes a member of the body of Christ instantaneously when he receives Jesus, I Corinthians 12:13. But he also becomes a member of the Bride of Christ. Every one saved from Pentecost until we hear, Come up hither, Revelation 4:1, is a member of the coming bride. Now, Revelation 19:7 says, let us give honor unto him, for the marriage of the Lamb, and the Lamb is Christ, has come. So the marriage takes place in heaven. Then He comes back to earth to set up His kingdom for 1,000 years, Revelation 20:4, and He honeymoons here with His bride, the church of Jesus Christ. And the Marriage Supper takes place here on earth, because all the saints who’ve died during the Tribulation hour have to be part of the Supper. :)

FACT? Where did this 'fact' originate?
We have 4 eyewitness accounts of the life of Jesus and not one of them even implied that Jesus was married. In the Hebrew culture of the 1st century it was unusual for a man of Jesus' age to be single, but if he had been married, don't you think 1 of the Gospel writers would have mentioned it?
Jesus himself said He didn't have a home by saying the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head. If he didn't have a home, where did his wife live?
I think you are confusing DaVinci code fiction with historical accounts.
But most importantly, what will you do with your knowledge of Jesus? Will you say He was an historical figure, a good man or the one and only Son of God? And if He is who He claimed, He was either the worst liar that ever lived or the actual Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.

cause it isn't true. You probably need to look at Webster's to see what the definition of the word "fact" is. Then you need to adjust your thinking (and speaking) accordingly.

A fact is something that can be observed by men and women repeatedly.

In the case of a historical fact, there needs to be some real actual basis for it (and it needs to be established somehow that it's true, not just foolish conjecture).

No part of legitimate history ever suggested that Jesus was married or had children.

That's only a modern notion made up by people who don't want to accept the truth of the matter.

No first century source ever made any such contention.

Not only is the DaVinci Code total fiction, but it makes false claims that is it based on verified historical facts and research. No legitimate scholar would ever agree with Brown's ridiculous claims of "research" or "scholarship".

What's to get over?? It really appears to be a non-event. Jesus loved us all and his love for Mary Magdalene would have been along the same lines.

That sort of love is to my mind so much greater than any love we can comprehend. And certainly I don't believe that any physical love was manifest there.

I won't pretend that I know the answer to this, nor do I think anyone else does either, but I really believe that Jesus walked a very different path than mortal man...and thank God he did.

You've been reading or watching fiction thinking it is true. Have fun in your TWILIGHT ZONE! Oh, by the way, show me your proof and I will show you how your reasoning abilities have a flaw.

Have you ever considered the fact that Brown's book is based on his interpretation of DaVince's painting and that DaVince never was a witness to Christ and his Apostles but an artist with his own artistic style? Interpretation and artistic style does not lead to truth but erroneous ideas. Just like the one you have. You have a long way in developing your critical reasoning skills.

Christ was not married and did not have children. That is the way that it is. The Bible is given to us as it is because God knew with what is in it already will result in hair splitting as to the true meaning of the His Word. It is people who are not able to believe in the Word of God the way that it is, that creates problems. It is a simple little thing called "Faith". Like it or not that is the way that it is for everyone.

Take God at His Word and leave it at that!
