a peg tube is a tube that is placed surgically into the stomach to feed a person who can not eat any other way...

if this is happening to someone you care about insist on test after the surgery to ensure the tube has gone into the right place...

No matter how right the surgeon thinks he is... get it double checked...

A friend of mine with a severely disabled son had the heart wreching experience of seeing her son waste away... and being accused of not giving him the feeds etc... only to discover the peg tube had been placed into his upper bowel instead of his stomach....

the feed was going straight out of his body....

the poor little darling had to go through even more surgery when he was very weak... it was sad..

It's a tube that is surgery implanted into the stomach so a person can get fed through the stomach that way. They may take meds this way as well.
