Since I am a Canadian citizen going to school in the United States I would have to say you should visit the country before you make such an argument. The people here are like people everywhere. You cannot judge a country just because you don't like their leaders. The vast majority of Americans are great people.

The correct way to ask would have been "Do you agree with me?" or "Are you agreeing with me?"
