my sister color her hair roots every month to cover the grey hair. Can hair color cost problems to the hair and scalp later on if used too often? She treats her hair with treatment oil and such.... though after each coloring.

As long as she's taking care of her hair she should be fine. If a problem with her scalp were to happen most likely it would happen right after it was dyed, so if she's not having any problems she should be all set.

I have grey hair and used to color it all the time. I would do the roots and the acutal hair too...the hair itself can get dried out, because its acutally 'dead' cells, but the folicle and scalp should not be harmed by excessive use, unless someone has an allergy. I dont dye my hair anymore, the grey stripes look cool, people comment on it all the time.

I just read an article about woman who color their hair. I said that that it may be a contributing cause of some cancers. The study was done in Europe. I don't know if it's true or not, but it' was from a reliable news source.

another thing that would be helpful is if she gives herself scalp treatments once in a while. too much using hair dyes or any other chemical that touches your scalp and the usage of blowdryers can cause dry peely scalp like dandruff

umm it shouldn't bother her hair or scalp...as long as its not before 6-8 weeks...and make sure she doesnt use treatments or conditions too often--that often dries the hair..make sure the color is ammonia free

if you dye it too often (like more than once every 4 to 6 weeks) it can get really damaged and brittle. But since she deep conditions, there really shouldn't be a problem for her doing it once a month.
