I want to live in PR from Oct-May, and I might need to work while there. I am not a student.

Yes and no; it will depend what kind of job you are looking for since a few of them will require residence for one or two years or even a license.

Most employers will ask for a series of documents that you have to comply with, even for part time jobs. You can also get in contact with a temporary service agency to find out what are the requirements in your field of expertise.

Good luck.

No offense to you but at times i find it funny how little is known of PR in the States. We are American Citizens, PR is a Common Wealth of the USA just like Guam. So yes you may work, live, practically do anything you want just like you can in the States.

Puerto Rico is a Commonwealth of the United States, in other words a US territory, in other words puertorricans are US citizens just like you, in other words it would be like working in any other part of the United States. Ah! and by the way there is no puertorrican money, we use US currency as well! FYI
