I don't think theism will ever be something of the past. People have a right to believe what they want to. People need something to hold onto to allow them to think that they will 'live forever'. Silly notion in my opinion. We are here for a finite amount of time and we live forever through our family and friends. No deity is waiting to welcome us home. Why would he do it? Quite arrogant in my opinion for a creator to create a world and then expect all the creatures to tow the line otherwise be sent directly to the other place. If he loves us so much how can he do this? I am 'just a human' and I could never send one of my family to eternal damnation, so if I have that capability for forgiveness then why would God not have that level of forgiveness? If he DID forgive everyone, then there would be no need for religion anyway, because, no matter what, you'll spend eternity in paradise. So...for religion to work, people have to be AFRAID of what MIGHT happen when they die. For that to happen, there HAS to be a Hell and the so called, loving and forgiving God has to be not so loving and forgiving. Quite an absurd concept don't you think??? No, there is no deity out there. There is a collective consciousness in us all generally desiring peace and good, but it cannot be defined as a God. But believe whatever you want and I will. That is my right.

C'mon Tom, I'm still waiting for your answers! OK I'll strike first. Your site states in the Big Bang section that the expansion of the universe is slowing down. Not true. It is commonly agreed upon that universal expansion is accelerating due to dark energy. Just a little disproof for your established fact. Also, maybe you should read your site again, because you criticize an e-mail from a woman because of her spelling, quite a few errors on your site slick.

I think the problem with your question is that "Theism" is not in any misery. It is us skeptics/rationalists/atheists....whatever term you like ...that are made miserable by the presence of people living their lives in accordance with a fairy tale.
I do expect that eventually theism will wither and die...if we manage to survive the violence that religion has brought us to. I wouldn't want to live in a totalitarian state where religion is outlawed, any more than i would want to live in a theocracy where non-believers were punished.
God believers are entitled to have their silly beliefs, but I do reserve the right to challenge and ridicule them, especially if they try and ram their mythologies down my throat.

Don't look for it to happen soon, Tom. You know when they have those polls that say well, 70% of the people believe in God, only about 35% percent go to church? The ones that don't go were brainwashed too, and just aren't afraid enough to go to church, but deep down they have some fear left. And, everyone one likes the all the traditions, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the majority of them never go to Church.
But I don't think the Christians and the pseudo theists are ready to back down quite yet.

Whatever you say, satan.
Look, here's one for you: does it bother you that much that there are people who believe in God? Is it that much of a threat to YOU? Why can't you just let people believe what they want to believe? Are they hurting you by so doing? Because it sure doesn't bother me that there are atheists in the world. To each his own. Get a hobby other than attacking people's faith for cryin' out loud.
And P.S.: I went to Catholic school from kindergarten through college and guess what! They taught religion AND science there! Ooooooo!!!!
And, hey, good one, Spike! (see answer below)

I'd be nice if people could stop seeing in black and white, and realize that infact you can have both. Don't deny science, and maybe even use it as a pillar of religion, and put away this"magical" portion in religion.
But no, we should not put an end to either, both are necessary in our human lives. No matter what you will believe something, and science cannot be denied.

Why are you advertising that site?
Isn't it weird to you how you keep saying say not o Jesus? If he isn't even real? why would you waste your valuable breath trying to push people against him? I think your miserable youself because misery needs company.
My Friend, Please read the Bible. It would never harm you.
And even if you don't belive in God, wat harm would happen if you try it? Why are you so strongly against it.
I don't see people saying.. say no to Santa or say no to Unicorns and Fairies, why? because there is no need to waste time and energy on things you already kno are not fo real.
So i THink you belive that God is there and just because things aren't working out fo you, you decide to tell people to go against. Him
It will never work. GOD IS THE BEGINNING AND THE END.
GOD LOVES YOU> READ THE BIBLE
May God forgive you and give you some sense oe understanding.

It wouldn't bother me if people stopped worshipping, but it's not something that we should try to end by any kind of force. If science comes up with all of the answers to all of the questions, then people will stop believing in "gods" on their own will and accord.....which is exactly how it should occur should it actually happen.

Even as you write this, more and more people come to Christ. Every day in every nation people turn to God. Im sure He laughs at the little websites and "educated atheists" that think they could possibly stop this
