Something happened to me when I was about 14 years old that showed me that there is something going on, in a different plane of existince, than can not be totally explained. I was diagnosed with arthiritis in both of my knees. I evidently had this from a very early age but had not previously been diagnosed. The X-rays that were shown to my mother and myself showed an extremely worn and calcified surface under my knee caps. I was told at that time that surgery and knee replacement would become necessary before the age of 18. ( Surgery at the age of 14 would be a problem because I had not grown fully yet.) I did not talk about this with anyone because I was kind of embarrassed about the whole thing. My friend from school invited me one day to his church for youth night, so I went there with him. I knew his dad was a minister or clergyman there but only met him once or twice before this night. Well, while at the church (now remember my friend did not know about any problems with my knees) I was sitting on one of the benches near the front of the church when his father came down and said " Mark, I feel God is asking me to pray for you." He then kneeled down and placed both of his hands on my knees and began to pray. I was kind of freaked out a little because I had never had anyone pray for me before. When he was done he said "I believe God is going to do something great for you Mark." and then he went to the other side of the room to talk with other people. Not completely realizing it until a couple of days later, I noticed that my knees were not hurting anymore. I had full range of motion in both and was walking without pain. On my next doctor visit, I told him my knees were not hurting anymore and he said it was probably the aspirin medication stuff he had given to me. ( I forget the name of the medication.) After I told him I was not taking it anymore, he said he wanted to set up another X-ray for me. Guess what, no arthritis, nothing, no calcium deposits, no knee damage, and thankfully no surgery! I still don't know what to say to this day,( I am 44 now) but I do not ever say that there is no God. Something is going on out there, If you want to put a name on it, go ahead, If not just know that it exists whatever it might be.

There is not enough room here to tell all that God has done for me. I was a drunkard for about forty five years. I prayed God to take the alcohol away from me. He granted me that. I was a heavy somker for over fifty years. He took that from me. He has helped me through some terrible sicknesses. I have survived a heart attack, open heart surger, anuerysm surgery. He is helping me through diabetes, debilitating arthritis, failing sight. I could go on and on, but this is just some of the reason I love my Lord, and will defend Him as long as I am able. God bless.

When I was only a few weeks old, I had congestive heart failure on both sides of my heart. The reason has never been determined. Congestive heart failure is suppose to be a progressively worsening condition that ends in death. (Usually within a couple of months or years.)

I am 23 years old. Against medical odds, I am still alive. I truly believe I have been touched by the healing hand of Jesus Christ. He wanted me to live - so I did.
