I'm a Christian and I find no problem with masturbating. As hedonstic as it sounds, why would God have made it feel so good if he didn't want us to do it? :D Masturbation is healthy and almost everyone in the world does it.
The only reason the Bible spoke 'against' masturbation [and keep in mind this was in the Old Testament, so very long ago] was because, at the time, the Jewish people needed as many children in the faith as they could get - so it wouldn't die out. Thus, the Bible spoke against 'spilling your seed'. I believe it has nothing to do with the actual act of masturbation itself.

They don't call him Jack for nothing?
Masturbation is when people rub their own genitals (the penis in males or the area around the vagina in females) because they like the way it feels. As kids get to their teen years, it's common to become more interested in sexual development and feelings.
Lots of people have heard all sorts of things about masturbation. Some people worry that masturbation may cause diseases, interfere with growth, cause mental problems, or stop a person from having children - but those things aren't true.
Masturbation is often considered a private topic, though, and some people may feel embarrassed to think or ask about it. And when you're too embarrassed to talk about something, you might learn things that may not be accurate. If you have worries or questions about masturbation, you may want to talk to your doctor, nurse, or health counselor - or someone knowledgeable in your family.

I love god but I dislike churches because they are worshiping images of god.
So from this place my answer: No - your are not doing anything wrong. Would god give you a body with the ability to make kids and to masturbate if he would not like it? Most people masturbate. It is natural. It is a body function like digestion.
My advice: If you masturbate do it in a way and a place that your mom does not know about it. She feels embarrassed because of the way she was raised. And there is nothing you can change about that.
Most important - stop feeling guilty about it. And live as god created you.

the bible does say it is wrong, but it also says that sex before marriage is wrong. i am betting your Mom was never a teenage guy with raging hormones. if you plan on waiting until you get married to have sex, masturbating will keep you from going crazy until then.
studies 50 years ago said that 92% of males had reported masturbating. i'm sure that number has only gotten higher, so yes it is very common. if it feels wrong to you, then don't do it. it's your body and your choice.

It is not wrong to masturbate. Im a Christian and i masturbate. I dont really know how old u r but im 20. But anywho, masturbation gets in touch with ur body. Dont listen to other people, listen to yourself. What do u think? What do u feel? Go with that. If u want more answers, go to menshealth or something and ask an adult that question. Im sure u dont want to ask ur parents this question.

I'm a Christian, but I haven't been to church in years.
Masturbating is GOOD! You become more comfortable with your body, and it starts the day off very nicely.
Your Mom says it's bad because she doesn't want to think about you jerking off.
The bible, specifically the old testament, has a phrase somewhere about spilling a seed as a bad thing. So basically, not cumming in a woman is a sin.

I think masturbation is a very natural thing to do. What you do in your private time is your own business. As a general rule, if something feels wrong, don't do it - if it feels great, do it more - you won't go blind.
