we like the hint of spiciness so I use olive oil, hot sauce, salt, pepper, garlic and maybe some snipped dill or chives. I put everything in a zip lock bag then toss it to coat well, put in fridge turning every now and then before saute in hot stainless steel pan.

1/2 c soy sauce
1/4 c brown sugar
2 gloves of fresh garlic; minced
1 tablespoon of fresh grated ginger.
This is an awesome marinade for chicken.
Really good if you cook the chicken on the grill.

For two chicken breasts
zest from one lemon
1 garlic clove thru garlic press
2 slices of fresh ginger root thru garlic press
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 Tbls brown sugar
1 Tbls honey
1 Tbls rice wine vinegar (apple cider or white to substitute)
chopped green onion
few drops of Tobasco
Pat chicken breasts dry with paper towels and dust with cornstarch before putting in Ziploc gallon bag with the marinade.
Best if you marinate overnight in refrigerator but at least 2 hours.
Either discard marinade after use or heat on stove in a pot with chicken stock and cornstarch to get desired consistency. Make sure you bring it to a rolling boil before turning down heat to keep warm.
Marinade also good with beef and pork cut in thin strips before stir frying with veggies.

I season the breasts with garlic powder and onion powder. Then I marinate them in 1/2 cooking oil and 1/2 lemon juice for 1/2 hour. The lemon juice starts the cooking process. These are delicious grilled or fried.

I cheat...1/2 cup of italian dressing or 1/2 cup of ranch. I always add a good helping of tobasco to either one. Let marinade at least 2 hours or overnight.

I love Teriyaki. Pour some Teryaki sauce over the breast. I like black pepper, fresh garlic (or granulated is fine), seasoned salt and let it marinate for at least four hours.
It doesn't matter if you bake, broil, grill or fry it.
