why do religious people still hold on to their security blanket, even after science has proved most of it wrong and is working on proving the rest wrong. it's ok little ones, you can come out from your hidey holes now, theres no big red guy underneath us torturing "souls".religion is a complete insult to the intellect of the human race as a whole. i mean, i can understand to an extent, if someone offered me everlasting life in paradise i'd like to believe them too, but it's simply a childish idea. sorry people, i know you all think you are entitled to your pot of gold at the end of the rainbow for your hard lives, and that it takes the pain away to think your loved ones are safe and happy even in death, but the truth is that science is proving how things really work and how they were created and it's simply not going your way, WHATSOEVER. it's completely selfish, religion wouldn't have half the followers if it weren't for its lavish rewards program. stop embarassing the human race.

for any religious people who reply to this, i dont want to hear any giddy fairytale crap about how you just know god loves you or that he performs miracles for you. if i wanted to walk around all day looking for things to blame gods power on, i could find a million things. likewise, if you want to feel loved you will, religious people just seem to develop a fanatical disorder probably out of loow self esteem. i mean wouldn't it be easy to think that your best pal is the most powerful thing and creator of the universe? it would make you feel very good huh? i know it helps you cope with your lives to think someone is out there for you, but it's a false security that needs to be done away with.

you people like to use the arguement "well science hasn't cured aids!!!", never has "god, shut up. also, the bible and other such books are written by man, with many inconsistances and rewritten by kings and such hundreds of times. "besides these facts, religion is notoriously intwined in our earths violent history. its funny how all this love for god turns into bloodshed, persecution, and segregations.

First of all according to the world, (how unfair it is) where justice most of the time is not served, where people are killed everyday, where people suffer from dictatorships, etc... how do you expect justice to be served if there is no Day of Judgement, and "childish" ideas are just superstituions, The Holy Quran provides all the answers and proofs that there is a Day of Judgement, and Heaven and hell, and it has been Historically and scientifically proved that it is telling the truth, The Quran was revealed in a desert filled with nomads that did not know no science, how all of a sudden can they make up sciences that were proven in modern age, (the Quran explains many sciences) and it is as i said scientifically proven. So do you expect that the arabs 1400 years ago discovered all this or is it Gods revelation? think about it and read the Quran if you dont believe me, the Bible, Telmud, etc... might be a little altered (no offense) but the Quran isnt and it proves everything against what you said, With all respect your embarrasing the Human race

Oh sweetheart, I think you need to check out your beloved scientific facts. As science evolves it keeps on disproving it's own theories. And scientific theories are just that theories not facts. Besides you can't scientifically disprove the existence of God.

I firmly believe that God is the Great Scientist and think he is probably flattered with our childlike efforts of understanding his designs. I very much look forward to the day when he and I can have a chat about how to make butterflies from scratch. God's chemistry book has to be awesome.

And besides, what if you are wrong? Think of it this way - logically doesn't it make sense to find the most demanding religion you can and live it the best you can, because then if you are wrong and there is no God and least you hopeful lived a good and full life? If however we are right and you are wrong - well the afterlife will certainly be interesting.

There are many people who hold onto superstitious belief, simply because it makes their lives more comfortable. Unfortunately, most of those same people feel the need to inject themselves into the real world, very loudly, and make the rest of them (those who keep their beliefs quiet and to themselves) look bad.

Those who claim that evolution and the big bang are just theories, don't truly understand the nature of scientific theory. Gravity is a theory, as is the fact that the earth travels around the sun. Both exist, and are accepted as fact. Denying theories as invalid because of one missing detail is false. Science doesn't work like that...logical conclusions can be drawn, and incorrect facts can be made correct, with proof. Religion, on the other hand, becomes invalid if even one part of the nature of god is disproven.

and we're the mindless one's? Science has proven no such thing and instead of looking into anything you are totally misinformed about you should actually look around a little. I believe that creatures conform to their environments but I do not believe that there is no point in this world other then to live and die and I do not believe for one minute that I evolved from some in between monkey creature. if that makes you feel better then fine but I know GOD is real and I know that there is a better place, it is just unfortunate that you chose to be so ignorant and mean about everything.

Look throughout history and see what religion has done to the world. It has divided and destroyed. Civilizations have been built and destroyed because of it. People have felt it their inalieable right to force their beliefs on others and if they don't 'listen' then they launch wars and torture on the 'pagans'. The Crusades, the Missionary conversion of the savages of ancient lands, the constant push and pull between the large faiths of the world to try and prove that they have discovered the 'Way'. Religion is a man made thing, devised to control the masses. Nothing more than that.

Science never actually proved any of that stuff you speak of. Just because they taught you that in school doesn't mean it's true. Show me where it's been proven- can you prove to me it's be totally proven?! Do you REALLY think you're here with out a purpose? Do you like the idea that you're just floating around aimlessly just waiting for whatever to happen whenever it does and death just coming who knows when. Then just lying in the dirt 6 feet under? Great life- I'll stick with the eternal one in Heaven thanks very much.

Science has not only not disproven most of the stories in the Bible, but Science trying to discredit them has come up scratching their heads. for instance carbon dating has been proven to be ineffective, the stories that you so put down are documented by non Christian historians of that day and time. the so called skull of prehistoric man was a hoax, made from combining part of a pig skull with human skulls. and science is still trying to disprove the Shroud of Turin. over the years scientist have tried to prove that God did not exist, hoping to believe that they could live lives free of retribution. and after
years are still trying, when will they learn that it is only a waist of their time and ours.
if you are so sure that science is right, why are you trying so hard to convince yourself?

Unfortunately for you, science has proven nothing. Who knows, your beliefs may be the one which are wrong. If I'm wrong when I die, I have nothing to lose as a Christian. However, if you're wrong there might be Hell to pay.

I'm sorry you feel that way really.
