i think st.toad is right about choas being interchangabl, And with cottage by the sea that evil is useful to poeple in the sence that it promotes self need, like if im hungry i will eat the last piece of bread, in stead of giving it to some one else.

Chaos is neccesary to change things. Order keeps the same ole thing goin on, even if it's f$cked up. Revolution, and creating a better deal for the Common Man, is a matter of Chaos. I wouldn't equate good/evil with order/chaos, that is sooo Christian. Chaos can be good or evil, or good/evil or evil/good. Order can be good or evil, or good/evil or evil/good. Change can be good, change can be bad. Order can stagnate a good idea beyond repair, or preserve hope for generations.

I think I'll answer this one by example.
This was actually addressed as a major theme in the science fiction series "Babylon 5," with the diametrically opposed philosophies of the Shadows and the Vorlons. Shadows use methods of chaos induction by fomenting wars and conflict in order to bring about progress and change as a means to evolving species. Vorlons use an intrusive micromanagement technique to impose order and "shepherd" the younger species and races to maturity. Ultimately, the First One, Lorien, explains gently to both factions that their time is over and it is the task of the younger races to find their own way. I'd call this a message of balance and conscience. However, this synthesis could not have been brought about without the destabilization caused by the Shadows.
Or, one could cite Tolkien and his evil Vala Morgoth, who, in his attempts to destroy, actually created beautiful things such as snowflakes and the wars he caused spurred the formation of great alliances and friendships. The creation of the world by Eru and his allowing Morgoth to go down into it points to a belief in redemption but also a determination to allow things to take their course. The struggles that ensue thereafter cause many hurts but also bring about new understandings and alliances--progress, if you will. I cannot remember the quote, but it is said of the upsets of Morgoth and the shaping of Middle Earth that these things created such beauty that the course of events was said to be "better to have been--and yet still remains evil." Therein lies the paradox of chaos and evil. Evil is a value judgement but I don't think "good" can exist without it. Those interested might look to Gandalf's words to Frodo when the latter is overcome with fright at his responsibility viz. the One Ring. Gandalf tells of a rule of absolute good, HIS good, an outcome so terrible that Gandalf MUST refuse Frodo's offer of the One Ring. I think this gives an insight of why there cannot be good without evil, order without chaos.
I guess this only helps those who have seen Babylon 5 or read Lord of the Rings/The Silmarillion and parts of the History of Middle Earth. Anyway, Cheers!

properly, stable vs. evil is properly a greater debatable and subjective distinction than chaos vs. order, so possibly it would desire to be considered much less consistent... yet although, it relies upon on regardless of in case you view the universe from the perspective of the organic sciences or the arts - interior the latter case, there is not any such subject as order :-)

Chaos is important; it's what gives us freedom. Entropy is the ultimate result of order: everything reverting to its simplest state.
Entropy comes from physics. It is the assertion-- established logically and experimentally-- that the universe, by its nature, is "running down", moving toward a state of inert uniformity devoid of form, matter, hierarchy or differentiation.
Chaos is what fights entropy. Chaos is not "evil." (Evil is a value judgement: what is evil from one perspective is good from another. We must have death to have new life.) We need disruptions in the patterns or everything is just in a state of decay. In order to have new life, new thoughts, we need chaos.

no because ultimately sin which is evil leads to destruction and hell and eternal damnation and the wages of sin are death. the only thing you can get out of evil sin is indulging and reveling in carnal desires which is what makes people wicked but those people are blinded by the devil and dont realize how wicked they're being. evil only leads to destruction and will be judged by God because he cant have sin in his presence so every one who doesnt repent from their sins and accept jesus and his blood will die in their sins and go to hell and then the lake of fire and be doomed so there are absolutely no benefits in doing evil which is also serving the devil because he leads to destruction where as if you are good and Godly you inherit a lot of things like a mansion in heaven, here on earth: the power to heal, etc.

hello:}
well like someone said it is balance ,without evil and darkness and negativity we would not have much of a challange in life ,soooo we get to choose how we want to live our lives by trying to be helpful and loving or simply be selfish and non caring .
it is really up to each person to decide .
to me it is all about when your on you dieing bed having few regrets on the choices you made or when you need help what you have given out is what you will recieve .

I reckon we are born to be Evil by instinct. We need all the seven sins in order to survive as a species.
greed so we dont starve.
lust so that we may pro-create.
envy so that we may better ourselves.
When we bottle up all the natural instincts within us it can only lead to negativity.

You cant have good without bad or order without chaos because if we didnt have bad how would we know what good really is? How would we know what order is without knowing chaos? If you believe in heaven and hell like I do then you still have good and bad they just are seperated unlike in our world
