I was clocking out from work, and politely said goodbye to my boss. He said, "You can have tommorow off, get some rest." I repressed the urge to speak. But my thoughts were red and hot, 'Give me nothing, God gave me the day off, not you! In fact, He gave me twenty four hours a day, and I sell eight to you...and I wouldn't do that, except for the curse..."
So did the company give me the day off, or God? Or was it mine to begin with?

If you live above the ego realm, God gave you the day off. I really like your thinking.

Well it was God's to begin with actually, everything belongs to God, including your boss and the company you work for.
However - God has given you ever minute of your life and you have sort of sold it to the company at the price of your paycheck.
So in a way all the answers are right - God gave it to you because it's all his and it's on loan to us. It's your day to use or waste as you like, but because you have a contract with your employer then they sort of gave it to you as well, or at least they gave it back to you since you sold it to them in the first place.

Didn't you say YOUR BOSS told you to take tomorrow off?
Unless your boss is God, your boss is the one who gave the day off, NOT God.

I had a boss that use to do that.
It was his way of having fun, odd sounding to the rest of us, almost power trippy sounding.
One day I hear him say it to his wife who was going out of town, she said "only if you do" and they both started laughing.
So the next time he said it to me I smiled and replied "hey you can have tomorrow off too" I could still hear him laughing as I left the shop.
Maybe - just maybe - your boss is the same way.

The boss simply gave you the day off. Why are you so confused? Did you forget your medication today?

Of course God gave you that day off.God gave you that day. But, He also gave that day to the company for which you work;and, your boss. You were all made stewards of that day ,and it was up to all of you to use that day wisely.

Your time is your own. If he gave you a day off with pay - then what he gave you was free money. A day off without pay is not a gift since it benefits him too.

god gave you life and the day, the man that hired you gave you the day off, give credit to god for the day and your life give thanks to your boss for the day off, as god said when asked who did the gold coins belong to and god asked whose picture was on the coin, and they answered ceasers, and then god replied give unto ceasers what is his,so you see it was as simple as that
