a151...war is a declaration.. It's like a formal contract...and when there is a declaration of war, much paperwork must be processed through.. We're talking so much paperwork-- it's that of all Stephen Kings' books put together. A declaration of war is a signed formal contract between two or more nations.
Nowadays, wars are fought to solve political debates. "Conquering" does not exist anymore-- at least, not to anyone but the Mexicans and maybe a few Middle Easterners.. or lost Muslims...
-- They say we stole it because they are uneducated.. and therefore can provide no other proper fact to compete with anti-illegals.
We didn't steal the land.. We had a war, and paid them off.. They didn't uphold their part of the bargain, and didn't meet the deadline-- so the land went to the United States. Furthermore, they accepted our payment.. which back then was a lot of money.
Now, ask them where that money went and they'll shrug their shoulders. Their loss is not my problem, nor this countries. That is their fault for not investing in something useful ...for everyone to benefit from.
They're excuse's are we stole the land.. or that we're racist. They don't have a valid fact for their reasons they are in this debate. They are just hoping to stay in ... and get many to sympathize for them-- Which I don't... not one bit-- simply for breaking the law.
I have no tolerance for people that choose to dodge reality-- we have laws.. Use them. That's what they're for.
If you choose to do everything illegally, than I don't want to have anything to do with you.. And because this is my country-- and because I served my time, committed my belonging as a U.S. Citizen-- I cannot and will not let some illegal step on me as if it means nothing.
They need to start packing, because their time here is running very short. GL, you can roll with 'em...

"and yes , I do consider killing off houndreds of native americans a war..."
Sending in well armed, well trained soldiers to slaughter villages full of women and children isn't a "war". Anymore then it would be a "war" if you (or gokart121) were to hear a trumpet sound outside, you looked out the window, and you saw General Custer back from the dead on horseback with 500 men at his side charging down your street, shooting and stabbing everyone they see, unarmed men, women, and children. What would you do, hero? Your neighborhood would be just about as helpless to that attack as a Native village would have been. You know what would be even greater, if it were to happen? If the next day the newspapers were reporting on General Custer's great victory in his "war" on your neighborhood.
Here's a great "battle" for you. If the troops who were sent in the help the victims of Katrina had given them all blankets infected with a disease they knew would kill off 90% of them. Yep, that would have been a "battle" that the old US government would have been proud of.
You're right, none of this land belongs to Mexico. They made a deal, and all parties seem to have abided by that deal. That being said, the history of the US government isn't as rosey peachy perfect as you seem to think it is.

America was found by criminals! what part don't you understand? This was the Mexicans & Native Americans land. The criminals (white) came to America killed almost all the Mexicans & Native Americans and the rest they pushed into mexico and canada, then went to africa and got slaves (african americans) to build the land..so overall (whites) have no saying in this because this was never their land and the only way they got it was killing and stealing.
How was it stolen from the mexicans? Read
All the Southern States like California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Colorado and up to Montanna was stolen from Mexico by the Americans through wars and ethnic cleansing. I bet you they don't teach the real history in school..and now the problem is since the land was taken from mexico illegally, mexicans now it's their birthright and that their indigenious to the lands, and it's not fair to kick mexicans off their native lands even if they crossed illegally because the lands were stolen from them illegally.
Mexico didn't recognize the indepence (and annexation) of Texas until it was forced to do so under US duress. the US did pay for it. Pennies an acre, and again, Mexico was forced into doing it due to the American occupation of the capital. And all of this after an invasion brought about by Polk on false pretenses.
Ps. when you steal something you don't get to keep it,so it will eventually return to the real owners, and NO that is not consider a legal war.

We have stolen nothing ... there have been wars fought, lost and won all over the globe ... and we have to deal with the realities of today, which is that the United States exists as an independent nation with its internationally recognized borders ... anything else is lunacy ... I mean at the same token, Sweden should still belong to Denmark ... Finland should belong to Sweden ... Britain should belong to Denmark too, since it was conquered by the Danish Vikings ... or to the Saxons, who were there before the Vikings and then assimilated into nothing ... how far back are we supposed to go in history to put this old wive's tale to bed? Keywords are TODAY ... and INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED BORDERS .... none of this nonsense about stealing land stands up to scrutiny ... yet another smoke screen to lay a guilt trip on people where no guilt belongs ...

It's hard to discover land that someone lives on. Columbus didn't discover America. That's another example of how history is written by the winners. He made Europeans aware of it's existence.
I'm going to walk into my neighbors backyard while he's out bbqing, stick a flag in the ground and say I discovered it.
AS FOR YANKEES STARTING EVERY WAR,
the beginning of WWI and WWII had nothing to do with America.
Everyone says we stole this land because we killed (conquerored) to get it. Yes, we stole this land. The same way the Roman Empire can into existence. Every empire has to take land for it's people. Some find land that isn't inhabited by humans. Others wage war to get it.

Meet the liberal bleeding-heart apologists. They're sorry for everything, including for living, I guess...they'd really like to give the indians and mexicans lots of money, which kind of shows you where their political influence comes from. The native americans lost more wars than you can count against the US army, and Mexico lost BIG when our army fought them. The map you see today was in some cases drawn in blood, and in recent times it just really seems like kindness is being mistaken for weakness. No honor, no respect for the laws of the United States, or its' people, they know a good loophole when they see one, and they're going to ride that hyphenated-american status just as far as it'll take em. I don't think we're exactly being overrun, but there's definitely some emnity and malice in the ranks of the illegal immigrants, something that shouldn't be ignored or casually disregarded...rather, we should be listening pretty closely to some of this rhetoric as it may provide some good clues as to the future...

As I recall, the U.S. was not at war with the Indians. As a matter of fact, the Indians invited them to Thanksgiving dinner and then they took the land. The only way that they could get it was by killing the Indians Shame, Shame, Shame.

the position are you getting all those lies and misconceptions? The U.S. went to conflict with Mexico and received some land. They bought a lot contained in the Gladstone purchase. No, Mexicans are literally not immigrating or invading the U.S. to reason a difficulty. they choose artwork! u.s. did not invade Iraq illegally as a video does coach the passing of money to nicely-known terrorists from an Iraq citizen who represented Sudam. so some distance as China, (it is purple China), is worried, all of us ought to and may condemn that Communist authorities only for being Communist!
