i believe i can provide some insight, as i have read his autobiography "the long hard road out of hell". marilyn manson is indeed a satanist, but he also makes a point of informing the reader that most people dont have a clue what a satanist really is. he says that a satanist does not worship some evil being that is the opposite of god; god and satan do not exist. rather, the true satanist worships him or her self. manson talked often with anton lavey, the former head of the church of satan, and was made a minister of satan by him before he died. manson also studies the bible and holds alot of conservative viewpoints, as he realizes that the clutching onto of one certain viewpoint is narrow minded and naive. i highly recommend this book. hope this helps.

Last I knew he was a satanist. If you already know what I'm about to tell you then I apologize. Satanism is not worshiping the devil. Some people don't understand that.
For the people who think all of his music has to do with the devil I think you really need to listen more to the lyrics. A lot of his songs are against violence within homes in America, anti-drug, and many also are about how many kids are undeservingly outcasted by other kids. His songs are actually about good things and his work should be celebrated. Unfortunately when he was most popular during his Antichrist album, people only saw the imagery he was using to get people to listen to him.
So now they think he's all about the devil and getting kids to worship satan.

I heard somewhere that Marilyn manson was a deacons kid.. grew up in church and everything, but he was rejected by the youth there, and was kind of a loner.. so he rebeled, and now he's a satanic priest. I don't know if this is 100% true, but that's what i was told..

You've got some replies that I already agree with, so instead of answering your query, I will put my own opinion here instead. He will be taught in philosophy classes and regarded as a major impact to our society, when our children's children get into college. Reach a status like Poe. :)
Pray unto the splinters, pray unto your fear, you've poisoned all your children, tomorrow's turned up dead....pray now baby, pray your life was just a dream, the cut that never heals...

That freak is the most non-religious/non-spiritual being I've ever seen. He doesn't even know who he is let alone who his Creator is. I feel sorry for people like that. He has no direction to go and no divinity to look to for answers to his life's questions.

Hopefully he'll wind up like Alice Cooper--his mentor. Alice Cooper became a born again Christian.

I don't think he has anything. Everything he writes about is purely evil and against the Bible.
