Hazzard County in Georgia is dry, that's why Bo and Luke run 'shine for Uncle Jesse.

I am quite familiar with american southern rednecks and their moonshine swilling ways from watching many of the Dukes of Hazzard documentaries on BBC3

A dry county means they don't sell any liquor there. I know that Texas and Tennessee have dry counties. I used to live in Georgia a long time ago. I don't remember Georgia having any dry counties, but that doesn't mean that they don't.
