A very low tech way is to string some empty cans on a long string and hang it just below the top of the wall. When someone comes over the wall it will make a noise that, presumably, will wake up your doberman pincher and german shephard

try a dog, they will alert you to anything that moves! oh yea, keep the dog INSIDE the house with you...outside, well, they can be disposed of. sad but true.
