Because some men (and women) really do believe it at the time, but their feelings change as time moves on and they get bored with the relationship, etc.
Sometimes it's just a matter of maturity ~ it's easy to say those kinds of things without really understanding the consequences when you're younger, but life experiences and time teach you what true love is really about. Some of us don't find true love until we're ancient - I'm 49 and just finally found what I consider to be the love of my life two years ago.

Maybe because both parties give to much in the beginning of the relationship. These days relationships are being built on sex and what you can do for me. Relationships should be built on trust, loyalty, love and honesty. It's not just men either, we women have our flaws too. I've always said don't make a promise that you won't and just can't keep.

there are many different reasons men do what they do. but u know what Im not gonna knock anyone. simple people feel one way at one time n then eventually there mind changes n feelings change sometimes 4 the better some for the worse. **** happens, people change n nothing is 4ever but u cannot let that stop u from having a great now.

If a man that you've only been dating for a short period of time tells you this, it's crap. You've got to be in love and having the same feelings towards each other. Some men are dogs.
