If illegal aliens are granted amnesty, should the legal immigrant citizens get a refund?

I mean, hey, the legal immigrants have to spend thousands of dollars for lawyers and processing etc. Why should they have to jump through so many hoops, while the illegals are demanding it for free?

That sounds fair to me. I don't think a single illegal alien should be granted anything until every person who is doing it right has made it through the system. And I don't think the illegals are entitled to pay a penny less than what has been spent by the legal immigrants. Amnesty just encourages more illegal immigration.

Illegal aliens won't be granted amnesty, you don't reward someone for breaking the law.

However, if that were to happen, the legal immigrants citizens should get a refund but they probably wouldn't because the United States is way to greedy.

yes as should every other citizen (and thier parents) whose taxes built the interstructure they will use for free. There needs to be a $20,000 - $30,000 per head immigration tax enacted. At that point the immigration issue is moot. Let everyone in who can pay the tax and is of good character. The real reason for the immigration issue being raised at this time is that labor costs are rising in the US. Multinational corporations are pushing legislation to create cheap labor sources. As such, the are attempting to transfer wealth from the middle classes to the rich. This is why the Us is turning into a third world country, the middle class is shrinking do to short sighted policy.

I think you pose a very interesting question. It is hard to say because the decision to give illegals amnesty would not be b/c officals felt it was the "right thing to do" but because it is simply impossible to round up and ship out all the illegals. So should people who do the right thing be penalized? Absolutely not, but unfortunately it is the way of the world. They should find someway to compensate people who followed the rules, but it will never happen. The nation is in enough debt. I think illegals who gain amnesty should have a different greencard/ citizenship papers. Employers, landlords, etc. should then have the ability to choice for themselves who they want to hire, etc. Illegals then may work for cheaper, but now we have them on record and would expect some sort of income to be reported...so they'd be screwed.

It doesn't cost a lot to become a US Citizen, but there is a long waiting list. Definitely shouldn't need to hire a lawyer. Personally I think if anyone grants amnesty that they should go to prison along with the person they gave amnesty.

Puh-lease don't let there be reason to execute your idea for a refund.
The problem with illegals right now is that of stopping their numbers from increasing.
The accepted estimate of that present number is 12 to 20 million. If drastic steps are not taken to stop them we could have double or triple that number before our 'leaders' realize (read : admit) that there is a problem.
Personally, I don't 'blame' people who come here to latch-onto a better life. I blame those who could do something proactive about the problem but fail to do so for personal reasons (read:Votes, Greed).

Damn right they should!! And be granted citizenship immediately ... they have been waiting patiently and quietly in the line and as you said paid plenty of money ... only to be overtaken at the finishing line by a marauding hoarde of illegals ... legal applicants have been screened for background, medical conditions and financial eligibility ... that should count for something even in this unjust society ...

I think they should. They followed the letter of the law and dollar sign of the bill. I think they should also be granted money for the time spent waiting in the immigration office, hour after hour.

in fact seeing that they arent missed by their country and we are supporting their criminal a$$es then we should automatically put them in the military and fight in the war.

in all seriousness yeah capitalism is good but right now i would like america to become sort of an isolationist and start over. Like kicking every illegal out of this country and then closing our borders for a while.

You are so very right with what you have said. I believe things should change...illegal's shouldn't get free when we have to break our backs just to bring home a small salary. I'm for ya all the way with this!
