Yes, I went through that "phase". It is a cheap way out of using a descriptive vocabulary, and not becoming at all.
Just because I was married to a Sailor at one time is no excuse for abusive language.
I gave that up, swear words and sailors.
I still have friends (girls), who swear and it sounds pretty awful to me now.
The guys I know don't sound as bad for some reason. But, it's embarrassing, and not someone I'd bring home to meet the parents, if you know what I mean.

Oh, man. Going into high school, I realized that noone really cared whether you swore or not. I wasn't allowed to swear in my old middle school, so I let all hell loose during the first month of school. Since then, I've definatly controlled my cursing. Only when I get very mad do I let my inner sailor out!

I have been known to swear like a sailor. But, since I have kids now, I have to really watch my language.

I have one acquaintance who 'swears like a sailor', and it really makes me uncomfortable. My mother raised 4 girls, and one boy. The girls were taught that certain things were NOT ladylike; cursing was one of them. Touching certain parts of your body, blowing your nose or passing gas in public, or in front of ANYONE. I don't cuss, but when I do, people actually laugh at me. I suppose it's because it's unnatural for me and it sounds funny.

Yes. Guilty as charged.

Having kids doesn't cure it. It just makes you redirect it. Especially after your 1-year-old uses one of your sailor-specials at Christmas in front of the mother-in-law who already doesn't like you much...

Keira Knightly. A beautiful woman with a filthy mouth. What a shame.

I used to be one of them.
Then I realized that I didn't need to use all the curse words in order to express myself.

Besides, I try now not to say anything that I would not want to hear coming from my child's mouth during church services.
