I have never heard of such a thing, but then again, I'm just an advocate.

Is this a study you will be participating in?

If not, I also have NASH (fatty liver) it occurs frequently in those that also have Hepatitis C, so my second question is have you been tested for HCV?

If the doctor just ran a normal blood lab, ie, cbc with differentials and just to check liver enzymes, that does not mean your liver is not infected with HCV.

HCV has a specific antibody test.

If you had more info as to what your doctors tests have been I could be more conclusive to answering your question.

Estrogen a nd testosterone treatments for liver disease sounds bizzare to me because usually diet can play a role in fatty disease of the liver.

You do not have to be obese or diabetic to have fatty liver, however, your chances of becoming diabetic increase.

Follow a diet for diabetics and see if that improves.

My guess is that if you have cirrhosis, chances are you are infected with HCV or HBV and that you are not seeing an MD, but a naturopathic doctor of chinese medicine, ie. herbs and vitamins and hormones such as thymus.

If you have HCV or HBV chances are you are being taken advantage of. I would highly recommend a specialist in regards to your liver. Get tested and get treated. The only thing that will cure HCV in up to 85% infected is antiviral chemotherapy.

Too many dangers involved in the treatments of herbs and the like as with HCV there are many other bi-directional diseases and damages to other organs that might be toxic and life dangering.

If you have cirrhosis already why would you wish to take something that works in the liver? That will put a hard burden on an already burdened and over loaded liver.

I wish I could help you more. Please see and MD or specialist...I cannot stress this enough.

Good luck to you!
