I am aged 82 and my wife 78. BT insists the call was made. As there are only the two of us in the house and wouldnt know how to use this service or what it is for how could this bill be landed on me? Can anyone explain?

Call customer service again and explain again that there is no way you or your wife could have used this service and DEMAND that they remove the charges. Speak to a supervisor if necessary. Threaten to change services. Make them prove to you that one of you made that call.

I once had several calls to another state that I never made and the phone company said that I had to have done it, but they would check further and they found that someone else had tapped into my phoneline.

Just be persistent and keep arguing until you get proper service. And if you have to argue too much, change services.

My hubby works for BT and said that maybe you got a call that is a pre-recorded message, basically they are a scam and make money unfortunatly from people like yourselves. You could talk to customer services they might be able to help you more.

maybe you pressed the button and fell asleep or called it by mistake.... perhaps your lady wife made the call and forgot that she did..... easy to do... speak to a manager at bt and they will waive it... good luck,...
