Was there a vapor canopy surrounding the earth?

This seems to be the only explanation for Genesis 1; 6&7.

Well it seems like that canopy could exist in the astral realm as well.....We create alot of noise in space with our minds. Just maybe, it is like the stratosphere for thought and existing on both sides.
Just a thought as I have no proof
