Medical drug tests, like for an employer,do not test for Codeine. The standard drug tests use your urine to test for THC, which is marihauna, cocaine, and amphetamines, which is meth. Any other substance that would show up is of no concern to an employer or probation officer.

If you have been prescribed codeine by a doctor, just bring the prescription in when you take the drug test, and it will be fine. If they detect codeine, it won't count against you. There may be a concern, though, about the ability for you to perform your job under the influence of codeine. It all depends on what it was prescribed for, and how long you are supposed to take it.
Hope this helps!
