It seems like your girlfriend is a somewhat golddigger. If she makes you pay the bill then she must either not have enough money to help or just wants her man to foot it all! Anyways, talk to her about it. Try asking her to go dutch or tell her there won't be any more outings unless she starts paying her share. See, sometimes, a little harsh talk helps... but not too harsh please!

Even take turns paying for the bill, do whatever you can to make it fair!

I prefer to pay for dates, but I'm older than many of the people who submit answers in this forum so my perspectives can be a little dated. It's possible that your girlfriend was also raised in an environment similar to mine where guys pay for dates and entertainment, so that's something you'll need to discuss & workout between the two of you. My recommendation, though is to discuss it well before you actually plan to go somewhere. Talking it out during an outing is ridiculously awkward.

It depends on how long you've been together. My boyfriend (now husband) paid for everything the first three months. We met at work and both got paid the same amount so after the three months I offered to treat or at least go half on almost everything except for special holidays or anniversaries where he would pay. I even took him to Hawaii with my tax return when we were dating. Maybe she doesn't realize that you could use the help or would at least appreciate the offer from her to help pay. Everything is so expensive nowadays.

In this day and age everything is very expensive and she should offer. If she is unwilling then I would take a look at the relationship and wonder why. Then I would cut way back or do free activities. Don't be a sap.

yes she should offer to at least pay for half the bill, however if you are a gentleman you will decline her offer and pay for everything.

the only exception to this is if you are both on minimum wage where it would be unfair for the guy or the girl to pay for everything, and where you both agree to this before going out.

i still maintain that where the guy can afford to pay for everything then he must pay.

ask if she can contribute before going because u getting low in cash. Just to avoid fighting and stuff. Yes, you wil have to slide her off a couple of times. but her contributing won't hurt her. If you guys can't do things without spending too much money then u both figure something out to do that doens't cost too much money.

a proper male does not let the women pay, they pay for everything, they open doors for them, theyll buy them flowers, pull out the chair for the lady, help put on her coat, walk on the outside of the sidewalk when waking with her, this was the way i was raised and have always done it, you be surprised how women really go for that, unless its a female that likes to do everything on her own.

I personally believe it should 50/50.
You and your girlfriend should take turns on dates paying.
Hope it works out.
Good Luck!!
